Sorry I didn't post last night. I saw this thread right before the game started. Meant to post then. Meant to post again while they were scoring run after run! But I didn't. I was afraid I'd jinx them. I should wait until after Game 7 to post. If they don't win tonight you all will know it is my fault.

What I said was.......I want Diamondbacks to win because they are young, and have worked
so hard....and deserve it...and they do...BUT ....I wished NY could win too, as this would be one more
loss for them, and a series win would give them something to be able to celebrate, hold a neat

I'm here!!! Sorry-- I worked all week-end but did get to catch some of Saturday's game on the radio-- then listened to Sunday's on the radio until just before the Yankees scored and went into the lead ( unfortunately I was home by then and SAW those runs!)
BUT of course it all worked out!
I kept telling Rick to get off the computer and come watch HISTORY
All I get from him is, "I'll be there in a minute"

then I scream ( ok maybe not screamed since the kids were all asleep ) but called loudly
THEY WON< THEY WON!!!!!! ANd Rick missed it-- I warned him! LOL

I swear we saw one guy on the field after the game that sure looked like Jeff............

Hey I thought I say Jeff also. I am so happy they won. Curt Shilling us to play for Philly and the first time I saw him I just knew he was going to be a great pitcher.

Those guys never gave up. Lets just say the best team won.

I was indeed at the game, well all 4 games to be exact. It was one of the most incredible experiences I have ever had. From game 1 when the F-16 fighters flew over head to the ball falling on the edge of the grass as Jay Bell leaped on home plate for the game winning run. I might be biased due to how close I have been to this series, but I must admit it was one of the best seven game series I have ever seen. For most of the series I questioned why the teams even sold seats since we were either only using the edge or standing and cheering. Besides the baseball though, this series helped America to heal. The displays of patriotism at the ball park was amazing. From the stirring rendition of the National Anthem to Ray Charles singing America the Beautiful. It was incredible to see and feel. And each game in the seventh inning as they sang God Bless America, you could see the pride and determination that the American people displayed. Yeah, it was an amazing week. I can hardly wait 101 days, 17 hours, 56 minutes and 17 seconds until Spring Training starts and we can do it all over again.

We were in Phoenix during the playoffs and World Series. My spouse and son got tickets for one of the playoff games between D'Backs and Atlanta, and had a wonderful time! Neither had been to a playoff game before, so it was a first and an opportunity they may never have again. Unfortunately, we couldn't get tickets to any of the WS games, too pricey sorry to say, but they rooted in front of the TV. Upon our return home to the east coast, spouse kept rooting them on! My son kept calling from AZ to rub it in about those D'Backs! My son actually got one of the foul balls at the game they attended, so that is a cool souvenier to hold on to! That particular game is the one that went south in the 7th inning.... but they had fun anyway and look how it all turned out. They took some neat pix of the stadium and game for our vacation scrapbook.....one full of memories.

Good job dbacks......much respect due....but the dbacks are in no way young.....they may be one of the oldest if not the oldest team in baseball..but its good to see all of those vets finally get a ring...only 1 guy on that team had one.......i'm a diehard sanfran giants fan (hence the name) and i'm glad matt williams and bob brenley got a ring......congrats to many guys that have had long big league careers but have always come up short...it's about time......
