I got my walking cast today

I broke my ankle about four weeks ago and today I went in to get my cast changed to a walking cast. The cast is light blue and it isn't removable I have to wear a boot with it. So far it's been hard getting used to walking with it on. I hope the next four weeks go by quick. It is going to suck during the holidays with this cast on.

Congrats. I boke my foot a month ago and was told by my Dr. just last week that I can start walking without my crutches, a little at a time of course. My brake is more of a fracture instead of a clean brake, which makes it a bit easier to make the transition. The aircast is nice because I can remove it while I'm on the couch or in bed. As hard as it's going to be, try not to think about how much time you have left and before you know it you'll be through with the four weeks.

You are lucky to have an aircast. I had a clean brake so I still need a regular fiberglass cast. I just hope the next few weeks ago by quick. I can't wait to take a shower again.

Man, that really stinks. I don't know what I would have done if I had a clean break. I commute from Cape Cod to Boston everyday for work (2 hours each way), and getting around Boston without putting weight on my foot for just a week and a half before my vacation was bad enough. I couldn't imagine doing it for several weeks.

I have a friend that has a bone disease. He's been wearing those boots on both feet for just over 12 years now.
