We we waiting in an extremly long line for the H1N1 shot..my husband was waiting for 2 hours before this happened (and we still did not get it:headache:) I went back to the car to get my DD milk..as I was crossing the street..the cop car was at the stop sign facing me...I almost made it to sidewalk when he accelerated and plowed right into me:eek: I went on the roof of his car and fell off and my ankle got parcially run over. The crazy thing is..I did not brake anything...just a very bad sprain on my ankle and my leg/thigh/hip is very sore and probably bruised, and my knee hurts. I think my Ugg boots saved my ankle - it has tires marks on it and it split on the side. There was a witness, he was driving the car in the opposite direction and was stopped letting me walk and he gave his statement saying I was in the right and the cop was not paying attention. The crazy thing is all I could think about is our upcoming Disney trip...... and how extremly lucky I am to not have other injuries. It was very scary!

I am so glad that you are ok but this line had me rolling

I think my Ugg boots saved my ankle:rotfl2:

Wow! That IS scary!! Thank goodness your injuries weren't more serious.. Did another police officer come and take a report?

And to add insult to injury, you guys still didn't get your H1N1 shots!

Hope you feel better soon..

The police officer did not even say sorry when he got out of the car....he said he did not see me. Another police officer did the police report and I was in the emergency room for 5 hours. Now I am on crutches and my leg is soooo sore, but I am resting and on the Disboards

yes...what did the Cop have to say for himself :confused3 glad that you are okay...glad that a witness came to your side. That had to be really scarry:scared1:

Wow 2 hrs in line....we have Kaiser ins. and they have been giving this for 3 weeks already...seasonal and H1N1....not for adults yet however unless you fit the criteria. Took my son down yesterday and he was in line for only 15 minutes. Last week got seasonal flu vaccine and same thing...15 minutes if that.

Kaiser is always first to get everything....I just sent a friend whose daughter is hearing impaired a list of the clinics here in San Diego that are offering it...her MD will not have it for at least 2 more weeks and the kids will be going back east for Thanksgiving so she needs to get them vaccinated like yesterday.....at least her daughter because if she gets any flu she runs the chance of loosing her hearing completely.

Wonder if she will have a long wait like that also

wow that would have pissed me off. Wonder if he will call you to see how you are doing? Has anyone from the police station called to check on you yet???????????????

He should have at least said he was sorry. But he was probably thinking, "Oh Snap! There goes the job!". I hope he contacts you later to tell you he is sorry.

You poor thing. ER 5 hours?! I bet you are sore. What are you taking for the pain? Rest up for sure!

Holy cow! i thought you were going to say he hit you while you were in your car. But to hit a pedestrian! he musta been working on his laptop:rolleyes1 Seriously, I think I'd be having a talk with Ciy Hall.

The commander did call - he wants me to come in and give a more detailed report. When my husband went to pick up the report the commander did say I looked like I was in a lot of pain and he hopes I feel better.

I think my Ugg boots saved my ankle - that sounds like a great tag to me!

Seriously, I am very sorry to hear this happened to you. That is very scary!
I hope you feel better soon. :flower3:

I hope that you are okay. I'm sorry it happened to you.

The cop who hit you left the scene of an accident. There's no excuse for that.

I'm glad you are ok!!!

It might be worth sending a note to the makers of Uggs - they might send you a replacement pair ;)

He probably truly wishes for you to feel better. No police commanders want to see their officers run over a pedestrian. Also, I know some other posters told you they would be really mad that the officer did not say he was sorry. He was probably shocked to say the least! He's probably on administrative leave and been instructed not to call you so I wouldn't be looking for a call anytime soon.

I do hope you recover from this unfortunate mishap and still have an excellent trip to WDW.

I'm so sorry, how horrible. Luckily you weren't more seriously injured. I wouldn't be surprised if he was texting or otherwise preoccupied by something similar.

I agree with this. I'm sure he was in shock & speechless. I'm sure the officer really does hope you feel better and is glad it wasn't worse even if you don't hear it from him directly.

I may be wrong, but I believe police officers are told never to admit fault if they are in an accident -- the same thing your own insurance company tells you. If he said he was sorry, that could be interpreted as admitting fault and then the city gets sued up the wah-zoo. He should have at least said, "Are you okay?"

Did you reported this to the insurance company that covers the city police officers?

That's crazy! I'm glad your injuries aren't worse. Hope you feel better soon. I think I need to get some Ugg boots now. For protection, of course. ;)
