I got a new toy...

Well not a toy (can hear my wife yellling at me now) but I got a new weed wacker today... No not just any old one but one that can cut down a 5" tree (with the blade attachment)... Now I'm gonna have some fun... Yes I even got the right safty equipment to go along with it...

Forget the whacker! Just get one of those flame-thrower thingies for the garden. GO EXTREME!!!!

I'm so glad my DH doesn't read the F&G board. He would definitely want one...and he is a menace to anything growing close to the edge! Have fun Nat but be careful not to poke an eye out with that thing.

Thanks for the good laugh, our DH must come from the same mold.

I choose to mow and trim the edges for the same reason. My DH is brutal but mine does it with the lawn mower. Every time he mows he shaves the edges bare, I now have about 8 inches of weeds along the edges of my flower gardens. He keeps askng "why do you keep making the flower gardens bigger".

Mamu: I have sunflowers coming up on the west side of the house. Last weekend DH mowed and got out the weed wacker to fix the edges. He saw me coming and promised if he got any of the sunflowers I could go buy replacements. He didn't get any of the sunflowers but did wack off part of a dwarf pumpkin in my vegetable bed. Sigh.
