seriously. They say that buying a house is one the most stressful things you can do. I didnt believe them, silly me.

I am so stressed out. I have been on since 3:30 this morning because I couldnt control my panic attack enough to get back to bed. :(

Now I will be totally wiped and useless for the rest of the day.

They have changed our date again. Earlier, which is ok but its TWO DAYS from today. I am not ready for that!! We dont have to be out then, the movers are coming on Tuesday but omgosh, I have so much to do and I just cant wrap my brain around it all KWIM?

Then I find out yesterday that they may not let my kids stay at the school they are in. We have open enrollment here so as long as you transport and there is room they can go anywhere but theyre not sure there will be room.

ack.

I am so totally stressed out. I dont know what I need to be doing next!
Help?

:thumbsup2 it'll all work out............once we moved in I was sure the house was a big money pit....it was falling apart.... :rotfl2: ok, we just had to replace a car "big red" ive had for 5 years before that it was my mom's car.........talk about stress!!!!!!!!!!! I wouldn't worry about school to much proably something they tell everyone! Once you get moved it'll all be great.....it's the in between time...think of a happy thought and good luck! :wizard:

Hang in there binny! I know what you are going through. Stress, stress, and more stress. We waited four months for our closing. When we finally made it to closing, we ended refusing to sign the papers. The mortgage company tried to pull a fast one on us. It worked out better for us in the long run because our lawyer got the interest rate lowered because of the problem. :teeth: Sorry, not trying to scare you there. Just wanted to let you know that we've definitely been there. Just tie a knot and hang on! It will all work out. :goodvibes

Breathe.

It will work out. It's not like there are any other options are there. You are moving. It's a pain but it will be over soon.

It will be okay Binny. It really will.

thank you :)

youre all right... it is only temporary isnt it?

Im just so tired already its hard to see that at this point.

Kind of feels like labour. While youre in the middle of it you feel like you can't possibly get through it that you dont have the strength, but you do and in the end you are rewarded.

Thats going to be my mantra, I had 3 babies I can handle ANYTHING ;) LOL
Except I think I need an epidural.

OK so somebody help me break down what I need to get done please?

Instead of breaking down what to do - why don't you take a second and let us know what is already done. Then we can help you organize the remaining tasks.

The most important thing is to remember that it will be over soon (kinda like childbirth - and you handled that three times!!)

Take a deep breath and tell us what's left to do and we'll help you out.

thanks Marti..

Ok the kids rooms are mostly done, just need to break down the bunk beds but most of the toys are packed, the rest are in tubs so they will be easy to transport. Their bathroom is done as well.

Our room is about 3/4 of the way done, our closet is done and the bathroom is too.

Living room is done and boxes are stacked in there.

Dining room is done.

Kitchen needs the bottom cabinets packed up and 8 drawers. Shouldn't be a huge deal though there are only 4 double cabinets that I havent gotten to.

family room the bookcases are packed, the rest is major stuff that I cant do until we move.

Garage is about 1/2 done.

Office needs to be finished. My desk is not nearly done. hutch needs to be taken off file cabinet desk unassembled but I still have to use it his weekend so I guess that will have to wait. Need to sort papers and mail.

I need to change the dates for hook ups and disconnects, figure out the school situation.

Monday (hopefully before) I will need to get over to the new house and paint the girls room before we get in there. The rest can wait but I want that done before we move.

Would love any ideas or input :) thanks

Bin, sorry you are so stressed out. I really never look forward to moving, so fortunately we are in a place we don't ahve to worry about leaving (at least not for a long time). I have no advice for you, but  I hope things calm down soon!

 Binny, I know how you feel, but to a lesser degree for now. We close on our first house at the end of the month, and I already feel overwhelmed by it all! Plus, we have to get our house rented before then (a long story..."miscommunication" with our landlord when our lease ran out in December  ). Good luck to you!! Just keep thinking about sitting in your very own new house! :cool1:

It WILL work out. I showed up at my closing loaded up on Xanax because the entire process made me want to hurl myself out of a moving vehicle. I had one conversation with the "Mortgage Nazi" that had me yelling into the phone, "Keep the house! I don't want it anymore!" I became a raving lunatic. I hung up on her. DH called her back. I unplugged the phone from the wall.

But, here I am.....sitting in that very house. :teeth:

It'll work out. No matter what the hold up at the moment is, 99% of the time, there is a solution. Just keep telling yourself that. Whatever the problem at the moment, it will be solved.

I keep telling DH that I am going to die in this house. I will never sell this house because of what it will entail. This is it for me. :goodvibes

Binny - now that you've made your list, which do you think you should attack first? Are you planning on moving your office things last? If so - do you have anything slated to be moved in your personal vehicle? We moved our computers in our personal vehicle because we didn't want them rattling around in a big moving truck.

Truthfully, the first thing to leave your cluttered mind is the painting at the other end. I know it would be great to have it done before you move in, but really - you must move too! Focus on the other things first. Are you planning on eating at home at all in the next few days? If not - pack the rest of the kitchen except one bowl, one plate, one set of silverware and one cup. (maybe two if necessary). You can leave these on top of the kitchen box, not closed. That way it is accessible if necessary and it forces you to keep up with dishes.

I think you are in good shape. If you get overwhelmed, stop - take a breath and then continue. OR you could say - all I want to do today is the kitchen. Once the kitchen is done, you might find you have a little extra time in the day, so you can complete something else.

You are in good shape! (keep repeating to yourself)

Binny, I'm sorry it's gotten so stressful for you! They changed our closing dates for this house 3 times too, but later. The biggest pain was constantly changing the cable/internet company starting dates since you have to make an appointment for them to come out. I'm sure the school redistricting the beginning of the year isn't helping. I hope they get that worked out! :grouphug:

Binny, sweetie, deep cleansing breaths, ok. In........and........out.

I agree with Marti--I think you are in WAY better shape than you think you are. Really. And now you've got your list.

Oh, and I thought this might help:

Oh good Lord Deb, you just made my whole day :)

*sigh*

ok back to reality, though I could stare at that picture all day... btw come back to the hi thread, I want a review!!!

Ok I wound up going and buying that paint anyway because well I had to go to the liquor store anyway to get boxes and it was right there. So now I have that cheked off my list. On to the kitchen, that is my goal for today to get the kitchen completely done. Then I have to switch all the dates over for the utilities. that will be todays list. Tomorrow will be the office.

If nobody hears from me by tomorrow night call out the troops, I might be buried in here.

Thanks for cheering me up everybody, I needed it :)

oh and as far as the computer and such go, yes they will be moved in our vans as with all the electronics. I just want to make sure they get there. We're only moving a few miles away. Ive moved to another country before and yet this has been the most stressful move to date for me.

Anyway, thanks again :)
