I found some peso's

My brother had some left over peso's from his trip to Cancun many, many years ago... I figured we'd bring them with us in January and maybe actually get rid of them!!! I'm getting tired of A) knocking them over all the time and B) dusting them off!! LOL

so what would the equivilency be?? I have 3-50 peso's and 4-500 peso's. At least that's what I think they are... Would it be equivilent to maybe a few dollars???

According to xe.com, 2150 pesos are worth $208.43.

1 peso = .096 dollar
1 dollar = 10.31 pesos

I think that the peso was revalued in 1994, so if these are "old" pesos, then they'll be worth significantly less. I think it was 1000 old pesos equal one new peso. So if these are old pesos, they're worth about 20 cents.

1.00 Mexico Peso = $0.0969405 (United States Dollars )
500.00 Mexico Pesos = $48.4720 (United States Dollars)

In other words, you can pretty much think of the current Mexican Peso as a US Dime.

So far, it sounds like you have a lot money -- but there's a catch. When, "many, many years ago," was your brother in Cancun?

You have to figure out if you have New Pesos or Old Pesos. Mexico re-valued the Peso in 1994. 1 New Peso = 1,000 Old Pesos.

500.00 Old Pesos = 0.5 New Pesos = $0.048 (United States Dollars) -- or less than a US Nickel.

Oh Yea, so I'm rich!! LOL..... oh well, I figured they're worth something!! and I was right! they'll take up more room in my wallet than they are worth!! I believe my brother was there in the early 90's. I remember him bringing back one of those HUGE sombero's for my daughter when she was in grade school (She brought it in for show & tell).....

I just went through my Peso's that I've been hanging onto....I think I have even less than you do Jeanny.

I work at a bank, so from time to time I come across foriegn coin. I also have some from the Cayman's and the Bahamas. I'm sure it doesn't equal very much though.

I know exactly what you mean!! Looks like I have either $208 or about 5 cents!!! With my luck, I know it's the 5 cents. I can always bring them with me and give them to Sally @ the Minigolf!!! I really WILL have to walk, because I don't have enough peso's for a taxi... LOL!!!!!!!

2,150 old Mexican Pesos = almost 21 cents, US.

But I don't know if you'll find anyone who will still take the old coins.
