I forgot to call!

Due to a series of events, I needed to call to book one night at VGC. This was an extra day added to my four night reservation. I was already nervous about losing this hour, but was hoping because I needed a 1 BR, I'd be okay. I totally forgot this morning! Argh!!!! I called at 9:30 EST so of course VGC was all booked for my date. My original four nights were Sun-Thurs to give me more options. There was both a studio and 2 BR available for Sat night so I snagged the studio. That's a grad night so I'd rather have the Thursday. I wait listed the 1 BR for both nights and I'm hoping someone's walking and Thursday opens up. I'm so annoyed with myself but at least I got something!

The new system improved WL success a lot. I had a VGC studio night just a few days I WL it, and I was way inside the 7 months. So good luck, I think you have a lot of chances to get it.

I've been waiting on a wait-list 1-bedroom for one night in February for 4 months. Hope you have better luck than I, I've pretty much given up hope.

I randomly was on the DVC site and noticed my points seemed off. I looked into it and saw the wait list for Sat night came through for the 1BR! I never got an email, but woot!!! I am still hoping to switch Sat for Thursday night, but all 5 nights in one room is a much improved situation!

I wouldn't give up hope until the 31 day cancellation point. I got my VGC reservation waitlist cleared for this coming weekend 32 days out.. even then, there's still the seven day point!

I'm going to let the waitlist clear at 31 days. I actually will likely need points for a trip in October, and once I book that I have to be really careful about borrowing any points. My trip is about 68 days out right now, so we'll see what happens.

I just got the email for Thursday! Woot! Even more impressive.... they dropped Sat and used the right transferred points for the Thursday booking.

Congrats! I've had 3 one night wait lists for VGC come through in the past year. I'm starting to think it's not as hard as everyone says, but am knocking on wood at the same time, so that I don't jinx myself. The last WL that came through was for a Saturday night in February. I decided kind of last minute (well, last minute in the DVC world) to take my son to DLR for his birthday weekend. So, I booked a room at PP. I don't love staying there, but the prices for that night are insane & even PP was $400 after tax. I went ahead & place the WL for that night too, thinking there is no way a night would come through at VGC with only 2 months notice. But, it came through just a couple days later. I was shocked, but completely thrilled to get my $400 back.

Right now, as of 1/13, VGC is showing 1 bedroom available for this coming Fri/Sat/Sun night... 1/15 check in, 1/18 check out.. Wow.
Even though there are only a few rooms, stuff happens and people need to cancel... This is MLK weekend, a day off for some...
