My Aunt is helping organize a giveawy at work. Not sure of all the details but she wants to purchase two day disney tickets and a one night hotel stay to be used as a prize. Can you purchase the tickets without a designated user? Anyone know?

You can purchase the tickets, but the hotel needs a name... and can i get a job at your aunts work :)

Lol! I know I thought the same thing! :rotfl: We usually have Fl res seasonal passes that we renew so I guess that's why this questioned stumped me. Do you know if she should just purchase them online and have them pick them up at will call or what? I'm sure she'd like to have a ticket voucher to give them but will the vouchers have to have a name on them?

You can purchase the tickets at AAA and they give you the tickets right then. We just did this as a wedding present. Anyone can use the ticket as their is no name on them.

For the hotel stay, she could always get a Disney Gift card and the person could then use the gift card to pay for the hotel room (or whatever else they wanted). Then the winner isn't locked into a certain night or certain resort.

I used to chair a benefit auction, and I would suggest that she call the hotel she wants directly (idk if she was thinking Disney or offsite). Just explain the situation and they should be able to figure something out for her. :thumbsup2

She could also purchase the tickets from a broker, such as Undercover Tourist or Mapleleaf. They will send her actual tickets with no name on them.

ETA: I like the idea of getting a Disney giftcard for the winner to use to pay for the hotel stay. Easy for your aunt to purchase, and also flexible so the winner isn't locked into a certain resort. They wouldn't even have to use it for hotel if they don't want to (i.e. they already have a timeshare in the area or prefer to stay offsite & use the GC for food/souvenirs).

is ti a benefit for a charity? Maybe Disney can comp a couple of one day passes for you.

The tickets can also be purchased at any Disney Store as well. Online wouldn't work (unless your aunt was having them mailed to her) as will call will only give the tickets to the person who's name is listed as the pickup person when they were bought online.

If your aunt's company is in florida, and the winner more than likely a FL resident, I would suggest a 3 day play pass. It'll be cheaper, and the person has 6 months to use it.

You can also purchase the FL discounted tickets at AAA without putting a name on the ticket. Then the winner will show a state ID and the voucher in exchange for the real tickets. Any time there's a specific discount given, like FL resident, they must go to a ticket window to show the FL ID to Disney. Or else any one off the ol block can buy a bunch of discounted resident tickets for the whole gang who don't live in FL.

It would be cheaper to even do two nights at an off-site resort rather than 1 night on-site.

I also agree that a GC would be a better option than a "prepaid" reservation for a specific night. The big winner may want to extend the stay, or, may need different accomodations based on family size.
