Just walking thru the dairy section and slipped - one leg one way, the other straight, grabbing the cart and my 9 year old DD grabbing me! There was a trail of water or yogurt or something on the floor!!!

Another person saw it and called a manager and I filled out a report. I'm sore, but ok.

BE CAREFUL walking thru Wal-mart!:headache:

Hi!

I am sooooo sorry that happened to you!

Take care of yourself!

Hugs!

glad you are ok. i cant help thinking of people that would actually be happy for this to happen to them.

did you make it on the website? ;) (referring to the "people of walmart" website that there is a thread on that's like 10 pages long and is the cause of a huge debate.)

Hope you're alright.:hippie:

I guess it isn't just prices falling at WalMart .....

But seriously, I am glad you are OK!

At least they called a manager for you.

I hope you feel better.

I fell about 6 years ago at wally world. One of the reasons I hate the place.

I was right by the registers in sight of the service desk. It had been raining and there was a huge puddle on the floor in front of the carriages that I didn't see as I was carrying a very squirmy little boy. I slipped with ds in my arms as I was trying to put him in a carriage. There I am lying on the floor with a screaming baby. The manager was standing not 25 feet from me as were a ton of other employees. Not one walmart employee came over to see what had happened but a ton of customers did. A few came rushing over from farther away than the manager was standing. I was fine, just startled and sore and the baby was just scared. After I got up I walked over to the customer service desk to tell them they needed to clean up the puddle and the first words the woman behind the desk says to me are "let me get you the form." "Not oh, let me get right on that," nor "oh, are you okay?" Not one employee at the store ever asked me if I was okay or apologized to me for not marking the puddle. The corporate office did though after I called them the next day. A week after the phone call I got a very nice written apology from the store manager..

Sad that the employees didn't offer help. But they are trained to never apologize or say anything that could be considered admitting fault. It can come back to haunt them in litigation. Unfortunately that's the world we live in these days.

glad to hear that you are'nt feeling bad, but keep an eye out for symptoms that could appear in the coming days.

i took a fall at a safeway store (and a totaly opposite experience with staff-they immediatly came to my assistance, were very kind, and insisted i fill out an accident report) that i initialy thought just left me sore. within a couple of days i hurt so bad on one side i relented and went to the doctor. come to find out i had cracked 2 ribs (slipped and when i fell i came down on one knee while the other knee smacked me in the rib cage, i was so focused on the initial sting on the knee that smacked the floor i ignored what was initaly minor pain in my side).

i was very glad the store documented the incident-my insurance, once they found out i had fallen at a grocery store required that i pursue the store to cover the medical bills. because of the report at the time of injury it was a very simple matter of submitting the report number to my insurance company for them to pursue.

I was in Walgreens with my DS when he was 3 buying film. He tripped into a box that had the pegs for putting the packages on the wall that was on the floor and he ended up with a small scrap at the corner near his eye, he was fine.
The manager came over and we filled out a form and when we arrived home we had a phone call from the corporate office asking if he was okay and our address.
A few days later there was a check in the mail for $50.00 from Walgreens.

My foot slipped on a toy while walking through the kitchen last week (talking on the phone and holding the baby at the same time) and I did the splits! Hadn't done those in about 30 years. Sore the next couple of days but then okay. Hope you feel better quickly.

I fell (took a header) into a pole at our local water park...people walked around me like I did that all of the time. Got the official diagnosis of cracked ribs yesterday. :sad2:

You must not have heard that Walmart fights every lawsuit aggressively and draws them out as long as possible. Since they have cameras almost every where, they will use them to their benefit. Most of the time they win, unless you consider them possibly paying hospital bills a win. Walmart rarely settles out of court.

No, I haven't heard that, but I was just joking about a lawsuit. :)

I do think that they are responsible for someone slipping on water on the floor, though. Unless they have a sign at the entrance that says "enter at your own risk".

Sorry it happened to you.

Glad a report was filled out. It simply protects you (not intended for you to sue.)

My mother slipped and fell in a store. Turns out the fall fractured her vertabrae. No report was ever filed and the store is long since bankrupt. It ended up disabling her when the kind military finally performed the MRI. Clearly it wasn't that serious of a fracture as she functioned with it. But it did cause debilitating pain.

Failing to file a report often will disqualify you from their insurance paying for your medical care.
