My neigbour didn't mention that he was building a conservatory until I told him that we where having work done on our fence. so when we found out we knew it was going to delay the fence finishing. He then removed the concrete that supported the soil in our garden (terraced garden) with the result that the WHOlE fence has got to be replaced and its being done today. Doesnt sound to bad apart from the fact that with all the noise I got woken up at about 2pm and have only had about 4 hours sleep and I have got a 12 hour night shift to look forward to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate my neigbour.

oh dear :rolleyes1

my dh works nights and he hates it when pople have work done and he can't sleep ;)

Oh No ! It's a real pain when you can't get your sleep. I hope it gets done quickley

I would check with your local council's building control and planning departments to see if he needs planning permission for his conservatory. Especially if it's close to the property boundary and extends over a certain distance (2.5 m for our local council).

We didn't think we needed to, but it turned out we did (luckily we checked).

Agreed. My parents have had an extension upstairs and the kitchen/patio area redone and had to have council permission both times.

Rang the council and they didn't want to know. Time to email your mp again. Managed to stagger through last night with about 4 hours sleep, but I am off for 2 days now so I can make up.

That's not so good ~ Hope your MP is of help:hug:

Our council's planning department has a link on their website where you can ask about planning applications on-line and they will get back to you with information by e-mail might be worth seeing if they have something like it.
We can find out who has had their plans approved or rejected and why, you should have chance to discuss it with the planning dept at some point. Try talking to them again you might get someone who has a clue next time.
Our neighbour put up a pitched roof on his extension without permission from the council or us and it's actually on our roof:mad: If we want to change our extension roof to a pitched roof now we'll have to destroy the one from next door I say tough noogies to them.
Buy lots of earplugs and good luck with the noise problems hopefully you'll get sorted out soon, remember if they don't have planning permission they will be asked to stop the work until they apply and if they don't they could be told to remove it all.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
