but when we go to Disney I will be 6 1/2 months pregnant and have diabetes. I am not sure what my status will be regarding insulin and diet at that point (it changes as pregnancy progresses) but I am wondering if I will have a problem with a possible wheelchair rental and all the other fun Disney stuff....Does this mean I need a GAC? I certainly don't want something I am not entitled to but am trying to make this trip as easy for my family and self as I can under the circumstances.... has anyone been there and done that? Well, as far as wheelchair rental, the onsite resorts have wheelchairs available on a first-come-first-served basis. You can rent wheelchairs at the parks - you don't need any kind of documentation for this. Or you can rent from an outside agency, which is usually the best option if you will be using it alot.

As far as being 6 months pregnant and having diabetes, the parks all have First Aid stations where you can store your medical supplies, do your shots, rest in a cool, quiet place. All the regular sit-down restaurants will accomodate special dietary needs if you give them 24 hour advance notice - modified meals, sugar free desserts, etc..

Welcome. I see teri took care of you already.
I can give you assurance that the First Aid stations in each park are very nice. We have used all of them. They are a nice place to lie down for a while if you need to. Nice and dim, fairly quiet and they have individual little cubicles with a cot and a chair for resting.
People who have used them for giving insulin shots said they even had extra supplies in case you have a problem with yours.
