OMG, Corey and I just finished watching Psych. It was a complete rip on Friday the 13th. I am sitting here getting giggles all the way through with all of the referrences. The ending was particuarly festive. Corey asks why I am giggling and I said that it was a really well done show. She said, what's this supposed to be from? :sad2:

Corey is 6 years younger than I am. I loved the Friday the 13th movies. She has never seen them. She said that she had never seen Nightmare on Elm Street movies either.

Sometimes the differences in our cultural referrences from our lives are just astounding. :headache:

I think I need some Pirin tabs and maybe some Geritol.

She hasn't seen Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm St? Whaaaaaaaat?!?!? :scared1: Admittedly I only saw the original for the first time two days ago, but I've seen all the rest!

I saw Nightmare on Elm St in theaters when I was 14. Which was only like four years ago but eh. The theater where I live always shows a classic horror film when it's almost Halloween.

I haven't seen them either. It's not an age thing for me, rather disinterest. :upsidedow Never have been into those sorts of things.

Maybe that's the same with Corey? ::yes::

No, it's not a disinterest. She likes ghosty, paranormal, horror kind of stuff, so that is why I was surprised with her admission.

I am in my early 40's and she is in her mid 30's. The problem is that those movies came out when she was too young to have seen them in a theater and she isn't much of an "OLD" movie buff. :sad2:

Ah. I see. Whelp. Guess there's not much to do for it then! ;)

I SOOOOOOOOOO get this. My DP is 5 years younger and NEVER watched scary movies growing up. As a matter of fact, she hasn't seen 1/2 the movies I've seen. Makes for interesting conversations!:lmao:

Yeah, doesn't it though. :lmao:

I can't get mad at her for not knowing what stuff is. I mean, if she did know, that would mean that she was raised by people with really interesting parenting skills.

Although my wife is younger than I, it's not so much the age difference as it is the differences in experiences. She (her family) never listened to music growing up. :confused3 How can that be??? So those conversations are pretty weird. LOL. She started to listen to music once she entered college, and has since gone on to form the likes and dislikes that people do, it's just the early years that saw no music (other than a little country :scared1: :scared: ) in her life.

We both tend to like the same things, otherwise.

I guess none of my sons take after me...but, my grandson does...and he goes with me (his Nana) to all the horror shows! :thumbsup2

Freaking out!! IS YOUR wife MY wife??LOL!! Same here...she grew up in a very religious house, no movies, no music, even at church. That still is hard for me to understand. She missed out on so much!!:confused3

:scared1: No music??? Man, I would have died. I told my family to bury my iPod with me, on shuffle, with headphones in my ears.

I love that idea! I think that if Corey heard that, she might rethink the idea of being cremated.
