I feel so down today!!!

I posted a couple of weeks ago that I was collecting my new car, I have got it now and love it to bits except every one else seems to love it too! I was worried about car jacking before I got it but I didn't realise that it would be so bad. Everywhere I go people are staring even people who don't know what its is! I just don't feel safe in it because i am worried that someone is going to try and nick it from me, a friend of mine who has the same car had his house broken into last weekend and they smashed up the whole of his front door etc to get the keys to it. I don't think i could cope with that if it happened to us!

Anyway to cut a long story short i have decided to get rid of the car, I know that I am going to lose money on it and that I should have thought about it before I got it and i thought that i knew what I was letting myself infor, but now i just feel soooooo down. I don't know what to get instead of it and its all just a nightmare really. To top it off as well DH and I have been trying for a baby and I really thought that this month i was pregnant and now i know I'm not. My mom has been to have her cancer tumor removed and my gran has gone in to have a cateract (sp?) done.

All in all I could just cry!

SO if anyone has any suggestions of what to do or if anyone is intested in a Mitsubishi EVO VIII for £20K PM me!

Sorry to hear you feel so down.

My opinion, for what its worth, is, if you love the car, then getting rid of it because of "what might happen" is something you will probably regret.

My brother splashed out on a BMW seven series and was worried about the same thing, but he takes the relevant precautions and has had no problems in the two years he has owned it. Just because people are looking at your car, doesnt mean they want to steal it, they are probably admiring it with jealousy!! They are quite rare, so you are bound to get stared at....enjoy it!! If it worries you, drive with the doors locked. Maybe even contact your local Police for tips to make you feel safer. Car jacking is not exclusive to expensive cars, it is quite common for a Ford Galaxy or similar to be targeted.

It may seem silly, but I used to work for Halfords (albeit MANY moons ago!!) and the police recommended the Autolock device (fits on the handbrake and gearshift) as it takes sometime for even the most experienced criminal to remove. It might be worth £20 to put one on your car, which I assume will also have an alarm.

It seems there is a lot of stuff in your life getting you down, so I would wait till everything in settles down and you can make a desicion in a better frame of mind.

We are in the same position DP wants a Evolution but I am not so sure, due to a spate of attacks in the area,regarding nice expensive cars, My Brother bought a new range rover,and the other night was awoken by someone putting there hand/coathanger through the letter box, so they are a little jumpy also...you hear so many stories but in light of it all,why not have a nice car just for the sake of some IDIOT, its like saying dont go out you may get hit by a bus etc life comes with risks everyday but we wouldnt live if we played it safe.

I had a lovely PM from ClaireL aswell yesterday, must admit I feel a bit better today. I also had an email from someone wanting to buy the car so I asked DH to send me some digi pics of it and then when I saw them I thought I CAN'T GET RID OF IT!!!!! I love it too much!

Think I might get a crappy car to drive around in when I have to go to rough areas for work and then just use it at weekends etc when I have DH with me.

I don't know - roll on three weeks!
