I feel ripped off by Cirque du Soleil! (sexy)

So am I mad at the husband - not at all, it's not his fault. But I am mad at the Cirque Du Soleil and the auditorium - how dare they sell the most expensive tix for seats where you couldn't see everything? Why would the most expensive tix be for seats that had a horrible view? I really feel like I got gyped. I would have rather have spent $30 less a ticket and seen everything. And the thing is, they know that - it is their show and stage.

I have to agree that those seats were not good. (I'm assuming you were at the Pepsi as you're location is shown as Clifton Pk. I was at the Friday performance.) When I ordered my tix online, I was given the choice of either on the floor (where you were) or in the lower tier. I chose the lower tier and ended up in row P, which was a good location. The price, BTW, for either the floor or lower tier was exactly the same. When we got to our seats, I looked down by the stage was very glad I had decided not to get those seats.

I loved the show, but I don't know why those front rows were so close to the stage.

Thank goodness I got the tickets cheap from a friend.

Too funny..! They have the same thing at Wrigley Field... seats directly behind a column... ack!

I was at the same show on Friday and I agree that the front row would be really bad seats for that show. I was also on the floor, but about four rows back. They were just do-able, but I still missed quite a bit. There was no way for me to complain. The whole evening was a surpise for me from DH. He was so pleased that he had bought floor seats and that he had surprised me, that I would never tell him that the seats were less than ideal.

Like the OP said, the stage was set up like a runway. It was 6-8ft high and the front row would have had a very hard time seeing anything. I really enjoyed the show, but I wouldn't have wanted to be any closer.

how funny that you were there too - really is a small world on the DIS - and they don't call it "small"bany for nothin! what section were you in? I was in 2.

I've sat in the first row once. The view isn't "obstructed", as the term is generally used. Again, I'm sorry the OP was disappointed, but I don't see any misstep by Cirque in this case.

THe OP is saying that the stage was in front of their face - so basically they were looking at a wall and they had to lay thier heads back to see what part of the show that they were able to see. That isn't "obstructed?" I definitely think the OP should write a letter to the facility and to CDS to let them know of your less than exemplary experience.

Y'know, I'm sorry. I must have misread the OP. I thought the OP was talking about the Cirque du Soleil show at Walt Disney World. That's why I was so incredulous -- I have been in those exact seats (first row) in that theater in Orlando, and know that they're not "obstructed" in any way. They're not the best seats in the theater, but they're among the best seats in the theater.

I totally missed that the OP wasn't talking about the show at Walt Disney World. Again, I'm very sorry for my misunderstanding.

now I totally get the misunderstanding bicker - thanks for clearing it up. I haven't been to the WDW one and now, after this show, I'm not sure I will. And Kelly had it right, I was looking at a wall and had to look up and crane my neck to see what I could. I didn't get to see the projections on the screen b/c it was too close too. It was uncomfortable and not fun at all.

I really wish I could make a complaint, but I know for a fact it would get back to my friends b/c of who they know at this civic center. I would never want to hurt their feelings. Just chalk it up to money spent to spend time with my friends.

Rest assured that even first-row seats in Orlando are great.

We were in section 9 row D. I think we were on the other side of the stage from you. We were just far enough back and to the side that I could look over to the opposite side screen and see most of what was going on on the stage.
