I am waitlisted for the 1st and 4th nights of a 4-night stay in a 1-bedroom BCV starting 4/3. The disney.com site has this exact unit available for cash on the nights I am waitlisted. Will this unit ever go back into the waitlist inventory if it is not reserved at the cash rate?

I doubt it. It probably got sent to CRO in the first place because a member used points for a non-DVC resort. DVC needs the $$ to pay for that choice. But sometimes, DVC does some kind of "trade" with CRO, so I suppose it could happen. But it's not a routine practice and it's not a likely one, either.

I assume that you are still on the waitlist. Unless you specifically request to stay on the waitlist, your waitlist request stops at the 30 day mark. If you haven't already, wouldn't hurt to call MS and make sure you are still on the list.

At 7 days, all waitlists expire. That's when you should call MS at least once per day if you still want the dates. At that time, you can ask if MS ever gets a cash room back into the points inventory. Maybe someone will sprinkle some "pixie dust" on your request.

There are two sets of inventory. Points inventory and cash inventory through CRO. Anytime a member trades out of DVC for a non-DVC Disney vacation, the reservation made with those points get turned over to CRO to sell to pay for the non-DVC Disney trip. So anyone who took a DCL cruise used their points to pay for it. Points can only be used once for that lodging

The short answer is no. However sometimes they can reclaim some points related inventory when it's short notice. I'd call and ask.
