Did any Escape brides feel like Disney didn't care or take you as seriously as the Wishes brides or an Escape bride that were adding a ton of extra money onto their package? I called more than a week ago to talk to a consultant and the receptionist said they would call the next day, and its been over a week and no phone call. I called a few days later and they gave me the same line. I have also emailed and no response. I know legally they have to start talking to me, I am about to be able to sign the contract. I have made a lot of sacrifices to make sure my fiance and I can afford this wedding and to not have anyone call or email me it kind of a slap in the face. Has anyone felt this way or experienced this? Or have any suggestions on how to deal with it

first, it’s shame that when you have been told something it isn’t followed through in a reasonable, if not exact, time frame. so i’m sorry about that. however, for the most part, the general wedding experience with DFTW is a ton of hurry up and wait and fits and starts of information. not ideal, but it is kind of a thing and though i hear escape brides feel the way you are feeling i can tell you i sometimes felt the same way as a wishes bride. it’s just that they have a different timeline. also, once a contract gets signed, then there is a big lull in activity there as well, until your planning session and then it picks us. it’s not like it looks on tv or you read about in magazines?

anyways, how far are you from signing? is this your initial contact or you are being assigned your planner? we had a big lag from when we initially made contact with DFTW, then got “penciled in” then you wait. a few emails on my part requesting info (they were answered), some general pricing info (very vague). at certain points you feel like JUST LET ME GIVE YOU MONEY ALREADY!!! not that the service was bad or i wouldn’t do it again i a heartbeat but it’s a process that normally is full of fits and starts. many people get more info from assistants than there planners as well. keep up your communication from your end. are you trying to confirm a location? get penciled in? find out how to sign your contract?:goodvibes

Don't take it personally. My wife and I just had a Wishes wedding back in June and I know leading up to that, it was almost impossible to get good communication from them. I think she was in more contact with the planner's assistant than the planner. Things were wrong with the BEO almost up to the point of no return and we're like.....uhhh....we need someone to acknowledge this. but yeah, it's not because you're having a smaller wedding or spending less. Although, I'm sure a couture bride would get them to pick up in no time, but still....their communication isn't always the best.

I'm having a wishes wedding and I'll go weeks without answer to my questions. We had a problem with our first planner she never answered any question I ask gave me a BEO that was full of errors and things we didn't ask for or want. We finally switched because she was so rude and unprofessional I couldn't take it. The new planner is nice but doesn't answer emails either. My BEO came out to 90,000 we are having a big wedding and spending a lot of money and they could care less. If I could do it over I would have never signed the contract and just had the wedding in New York.

I don't think it has to do with how much your wedding costs...we did an Escape, but we did add on a bunch, but still less than 20k.

My coordinator always got back to me within a couple of days. She was amazing throughout the whole process, so was Rosie in floral.

Unfortunately, neither of them are with DFTW anymore. Otherwise, I'd be telling all brides to request her!

Thank you all so much for all of your support and advice! I just get upset its my wedding. I want someone to care! Still no response from Disney Ill keep you up to date.

I had an escape wedding last October and I has trouble getting someone to contact me back, too. I started contacting other people I had previously exchanged emails with in order to get the attention I needed.

I do agree with an earlier post that the game with Disney Weddings is truly hurry up and wait!

We are getting married on the Disney Wonder next June and I have pretty much been feeling the same. My coordinator is nice any typically gets back to me within a few days, but she has been less than friendly/helpful and has sent me completely incorrect information (like how to get a wedding license in FL when we depart out of Vancouver):confused3

I am trying to make the best of it, she is nice enough and I am sure it was an honest mistake and that she is busy and is getting back to me as quickly as possible. But, I will agree the misinformation, lack of information and slow responses are less than ideal.

I have a wonderful travel agent who is helping and is really good about keeping on top of the details and getting me the answers I need in a more timely manner.
