I LOVE when MK stays open really late! There is NOTHING better than walking down Main Street at Midnight/1am and closing the park!

NYE 1999 MK did not close until 2 am that was a great night, except that I had to be a work 7 am the next morning. I was walking down main street at 2:45 am with the park practically empty then had to catch the monorail back to epcot. I still watch the video from that night.

I was online when the .98/night hotel rooms were available for Holiday Inn. I considered booking, then realized I would not have any of the onsite benefits. The one thing I was not willing to give up, even to save 1000+, was the extra hour every morning, and three hours each night! There are MNSSHPs 4 or 5 times during our 10 night trip (I think), which means the MK will close at 6pm each of these nights. We will attend one of the parties, but not the others. I think extra evening hours will help make up for the nights our favorite park is closing early! I could only imagine my family humbly walking back to our HI hotel room while we could be riding in the HM...good thing I didn't book it....

Last March, my boyfriend and I stayed at MK until 3am! It was SOOO much fun, we walked right on all of the rides and skipped through the streets and acting like little kids, dancing through Main Street and singing. It felt like we had the entire park to ourselves because it was pretty deserted. Being there in the middle of the night made it seem SO much more magical. Have a great time!

My husband is so excited about being at MK till 1am too!!! He is going to put me and DD 20month into a bus and send us back to the resort at bedtime while he stays by himself and plays!!!!

I am a disney nerd too! I try to hide it from my family. I told my Hubby that I was all set with WDW for a while but I was lying. I NEVER LIE! This is truely an addiction. A very expensive addiction!
