I just mangled a toad while weed whacking. :( It was a pretty big toad and I just didn't see it. It was still alive, but barely, so I put it in the weeds so my son didn't find him. He loves all the toads around the house and had probably named this one. :(

Poor creature.

I know how you feel.

At my moms wedding, there was a little frog in the bathroom and when I slammed the door, he jumped into the crease and got smooshed. I was so sad. People gave me weird looks all day b/c I was sobbing uncontrollably over this frog.

Try not to worry too much. It will be ok.

I remember one year at WDW there was literally MILLIONS of baby frogs everywhere! You couldn't walk anywhere without taking out a good twenty with every footstep! Needless to say I had to get over my "frog - killing guilt";) Does anyone else remember this?

I totally understand how you feel. DH was mowing last spring, hit a low branch on a tree with his shoulder, knocked a nest of baby birds out, and accidently ran the over with the mower!! He felt SOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad. One lived, but the mother bird wouldn't come back to it, even after we replaced the nest, so we ended up taking him to the local "bird lady" who works for the Audubon society. It wouldn't be so bad, except that the kids knew about the nest and had been watching it. They were so sad....................P

Oh my gosh, yes!! I was there once when that happened. People were hopping around trying to avoid stepping on the poor frogs but it didn't help much. :(

We have a big pond with lots of critters, and there are lots of rabbit nests and such elsewhere around the property. Mowing is sometimes a sad occasion.

Hey it could be worse..you could be the toad!

kiss me!!!!

Shoot that was a frog. Never mind.

Care for some warts instead?

We used to live on the edge of a pond. Our property line went past the pond and in the summer we would mow the pond (when the water was almost all dried up) and there are no telling how many frogs we would murder. I always wouldn't look because I hated it!

Now murdering the snakes was another story all together.

Bud- -er

The weeds/brush are growing like crazy, and it's hard to keep up. Toads are hard to see.

oh my god! you mowed over a bunny! how dare you!---oh wait..this is a support thread, sorry. :grouphug: :o
