25 years ago or so, my hubby and I had (and still have) a Pentax SLR with which we chronicled our journeys in Europe when we lived in Germany ( I was stationed with the AF in Wiesbaden for six glorious years). Aaaaaaanyway--
I pulled the camera out recenty and among the stuff I found a pristine box of Hoya filters containing ND, CP, Star 6, Cross Screen, Multivision and some others. About 10 in all. THey were sized for 49mm. I ordered up a 52-49 step down filter from Adorama thinking maybe they could work for my 50 1.8. Looks pretty darned good. I will have to check for vignetting (hopefully going from 52 to 29 won't matter too much), but heck--it feels as if I just scored about $150 worth of filters (in this day and age; I know we didn't pay that back then) for free! Wooo Hoooo!

Edited to add:
In case you Pentax afficionados are wondering, the camera is a Pentax Superprogram film camera. According to the very thin little booklet that came with it, it was "an untra sophisticated...camera..incorporating the latest in technology! LOL We never shot the 3.5 fps capability with film! LOL

cool .. It's good you found a step-down for the filters. :thumbsup2

Cool beans!

Nothing like finding cool stuff you forgot you had and then still be able to use them!

The real question I have is what lenses you have for it. You could always pick up a used Pentax DSLR to put them to use and take your first step over to the dark side! :darth: My Pentax 50mm lenses take 49mm filters, so there would be no worry about any vignetting. ;)

Congrats! It's always fun finding old stuff lying around.

I spent some time going through the used filters selection at a photo consignment shop recently but couldn't quite get motivated to open the wallet up... but would love to get some oddball filters in a package deal sometime. :)

Super Program, eh? I haven't played with one of those... shutter and aperture priority in a manual focus film body, seems so strange. ;) It also seems strange for a film camera that requires a battery in order to take photos... I'm so used to my old-fashioned K1000. I'm on the lookout for a Spotmatic now, basically a K1000 with an M42 screwmount... I have an H3 which is similar and takes M42s but has no lightmeter whatsoever. Ack!
