I fall down and go BOOM!!

I am so sick of this winter!!!! My neighbor called me this morning and asked if I could stop at her house and take her DD to the bus stop with Jessie. I walk right past her house so it's no big deal. The sidewalks and her driveway LOOKED perfectly clear...no snow to be seen. HOWEVER I didn't notice the black ice on her drive. I took one step and down I went!! Luckily my....ah...most padded part...landed first and took the brunt of the fall but I banged my arm really good.

Did I mention I HATE WINTER!!!

Hope you're not too sore tomorrow!...I know how those falls can "settle" in later in the day!

I'm glad you weren't badly hurt. I've fallen on ice many times and broken both arms (at different times) because of it. I hope your arm is alright.

I HATE WINTER IN THE FROZEN NORTH

I called my neighbor when I got home to warn her about her drive. When I told her I fell, she felt horrible!! I can't blame her though, not really. She is a single mom (widowed 9 yrs. ago) and she pulled her back out yesterday shoveling her driveway. She hadn't even made it off the couch this morning when she called me and asked me to pick up her daughter. She had no clue that she had ice! I offered to walk over with some salt and spread it on her drive and sidewalk but she wouldn't hear of it! I only hope she doesn't fall going outside!!

Colleen, glad to hear that you are pretty much okay! I remember jumping out of my van to a spot I thought was clear only for it to be black ice... ouch How sweet of you to offer to help out like that as well. Stay safe
