I expected new costumes... Not just recolors.

I think CapElDano2 said it very nicely. While I would love a full new costume or two I am very excited about the hats and items VMK has released so far.

Why not focus on the postitive and not the negative and be thankful that VMK gave us anything new for Halloween.

I am greatful for the costumes they are releasing but the purpose of this thread is, wouldn't it be great for NEW costumes not just same costumes different color. The costumes out now isn't the purpose of this thread, and we have all seen the list of costumes coming out. It never says mystery item"s" for a special costume, or "mystery costume" for that fact.

If all we focused on was the positive, would people try to lose weight? Make healthier food? Fix bugs in VMK? Would we have e-mail? Internet?

Naw, ya think? Once again: This is about NEW costumes, not the hats. If you read and attempted to understand the first post, you would realise I like how we are at least getting SOMETHING new. But I expected for Halloween at least ONE full new costume, not just recolors. I think I'll have to repost this at least one more time before the day is over... -.-

and second, it's not like you could do better.

How would you know that? Have you seen anything I've done before? I don't see why you should be able to say that since you haven't ever seen anything I can do. Maybe I couldn't, but shouldn't you have something I have done before as an example to back you up before you say that? Seeing as I haven't ever posted anything that shows what I can do with pixeling here before, I don't think you do.

I'm perfectly happy with what VMK has and is releasing this month. You may say I'm biased because I wasn't here last Halloween, and that may partially be true, but here's how I look at it: Next Halloween, if these same costumes would be released AGAIN, it still wouldn't affect me. That just means I don't need to spend any of my hard-earned credits and I can save them for something better in the future.

I didn't vote because none of those applied to me...

I'm absolutely fine with what VMK put out. Since I collect hats, the hats are a great part to add to my collection. The new colors of old costumes are cool as well. Sure we have been waiting for about a year, but VMK will release it when they are ready to. You can't yell at them until they release it.

I think it was a big let down to a lot of people that it was the same old costumes and nothing new. I was expecting something big and great and @_@ well that was a flop.

See, I kind of agree with this myself. I'm excited about costumes I do have (princess dresses, super hero, cowboy, Native American) being re-released so newer players or those who couldn't trade for them can get them. I'm happy because my mom can get them, too. I'm happy HM suits were released because I'd never managed to get black or gray in trade, nor was I able to get a yellow explorer outfit. I like the idea of new colors too, like the brown suit, pink hero suit, and the red cowboy shirt. I've enjoyed the pins, I was happy bat magic was back, and I love the old furniture plus the new bat bag and pumpkin bag. Love the pumpkin quest pin too. All that's been GREAT!

But I guess the problem for me is I've seen all the "new" costumes before in previews or on some random character wandering around the Kingdom. I want surprises. The crown is great for boys, and the witch hat is great for us all. They're both surprises, definitely. But like others said, I really wanted at least one new complete costume. Tower of Terror bellhop costume is wanted by a lot of folks, or Alice in Wonderland, or Prince outfits for the boys. A Snow White dress, a Mulan outfit, a Jesse or Woody outfit, Buzz Lightyear, Tinkerbell... possibilities are endless. I still have hope, but not much that we'll see anything like this. Pirates month was so much of a let down for me with the girls' costume that I had so looked forward to, and then I think I did permanent damage to my back and neck entering silly Sparrow codes. Ever since then I have not gotten my hopes up over much in VMK, but I am still disappointed about the lack of totally new costumes so far. Hopefully they will release at least one, and my sadness will be unfounded.

VMK is a FREE game. You want more then pay for it. It cost money and time to make these costumes. And also i get what your saying and all but the VMK population has gotten bigger and bigger since last halloween and tons of people want the costumes who were not here. This is their chance. I understand you have them and want more but some people, maybe most of the people, wanted those items and that would've been enough for them.

I have a few thoughts..and most of them are conflicting..and they are all just random things to think about. I'm not taking sides in any way.

1) vmk is free so I have a hard time complaining about the new items they put out. I'm not sure how big the staff is but in the past few weeks they put out:

a) all new tron stuff
b) a new DLR quest/prize
c) a new type of magic that has many layers to it
d) re-vamped the pirates game
e) so far 2 brand new hats and 3 new pieces of furniture that we know of
f) a brand new home page
g) fixed the dc problem (with the exception of me trying to get into host games it seems)
h) multiple new hairstyles
i) new staff outfits
j) the ability to wear more pins
k) the ability to see star ratings on pins
l) the ability to match up teleporters in your inventory
m) the ability to turn off trades and show when people are in trade

that's a lot of stuff for them to handle no matter how you look at it

2) I really would have liked to see a black robe to go with the witch hat and maybe even a red one with fur to go with the crown for the guys

3) I was VERY grateful they brought back all the costumes because I wasn't on vmk last year during Halloween

So...am I disappointed? No, not really..do I have some lingering wishes? Sure..but you know there are many more Halloweens to come and well you can't get everything all at once. Believe me if you did, it would all lose it's magic.

We've heard all the harsh comments on this thread about be "grateful" of what we have ok we all have already said we are grateful so we can jsut stop pushhing that subject. We are on the subject of wouldn't it be cool to have new costumes and not just new colors. Keep up the pace everyone.

Yes, we are BUT the people who have posted about "be greatful" ARE on subject since they are saying that SINCE they came out with all the new stuff we should not be wanting so much more.

I think VMK should have done a poll about this because i know that it would cost way too much for the to do both things so do a poll to see which people want more.

My take on it is of course it takes time and money to make costumes or anything else in the game. But, for example, the red cowboy and brown HM outfits were spotted last year. I'm thinking it was over a year ago. So, for me at least, it's just the point that you're looking at a year-long wait for something you saw or or saw pictures of, rather than 1 new outfit you don't have pictures of. Even Tron we saw months in advance. Kind of like magic carpet magic; how long has that wait been going on, LOL? I'd rather not be "teased" with things than be shown something and then wait a long time for it, if that makes sense.

Things take time to develop and things have bugs that have to be worked out, but it's just the idea that it'd be nice to have at least one new, complete surprise costume. Yeah, a lot of people wanted what's out. I never said I didn't want what's out. But having a new costume compared to say a re-release of the green hero suit that's darned near impossible to trade away already would have been something I would've liked more.

But who knows what else is in store for us, so we shall see. And hey, if there was an option where you could pay to get new outfits or magic, shoot, I'd take that in a second if it was a reasonable amount. The thing is that's not an option. So, like I said before, I'm not sitting here barking at VMK. I like the changes mostly, and I love what's been out so far. I just had my heart set on one new outfit, and I don't think that's a bad thing to say nor is it disrespectful to the designers/design teams.
