I am so confused about this welcome gift thing. We booked our reservation through Universal Vacations, not directly through Loews. After reading some of the other posts, it would seem that we are paying top dollar for our room. Supposedly, the deal with this vacation package is that the park tickets are free if you book your hotel reservations through them. I know I had read somewhere before that this particular package was one of the only ones that was considered a "qualifying stay". Anyway, I don't like surprises so I e-mailed the person in charge of public relations for Loew's to find out once and for all if I will be entitled to the welcome gift. I know it really is not that big of a deal. I'm sure we will have a great time either way, but I just want to know! If the answer is "yes", I will take my e-mail with me just in case they tell me no when I check in.

Last July I booked through Universal Vacations just like you. I had no problem receiving the welcome gift because you give your Loew's member # at check-in if you haven't already. However, it took a lot of effort to get my 7-night stay to count as a "qualified stay" to work toward "gold" status. I had to fax Loew's all the confirmation info, etc. about 4 weeks after our stay. That's when I found out that Univ. Vacations and Loew's are not connected.
