Thanks to all for your info and for clearing up the confusion over terminology, it never hurts to have a reminder that crime is everywhere, we all need to be as careful over there as we are at home.

On another note I read good advice from the law enforcement agancies about not leaving valuables in your vehicle or having anything on show which marks you out as a tourist. Makes you wonder why the Florida authorities want us to display a highly visible bright red temporary disabled parking tag
