Heres the deal.... we are going back to disney in june....but ONLY if we can do it on the cheap!!!!!

We have AP's...and to be honest a hotel room is just a place to bathe and nap. So we are looking at the cheap-o's on and along I_Drive. We are looking at the Masters Inn's...any of the main gate hotels.....just wondering which you guys have tried and\or prefer. We are trying to stay WAY cheap....but want to do it in a DECENT hotel.

TIA for all your information

Can't help you on that particular hotel, but we are also doing a cheaper weekend trip in May. Normally I spend closer to $200 but don't want to this time since I can't get a good rate at the WDW hotels. I refuse to pay $180 for a moderate or $110 for a value. :snooty:

I've looked at nearby hotels but this time we are probably going to rent a condo a couple miles from the parks off 192 (I hate I-drive - eeeeekkk!). You can get a 2d/2b in Windsor Hills for $75-80/night plus taxes and cleaning. So much more room, you get a community feel with a neat pool and clubhouse.

So I guess it depends on how cheap you want to do it. You need to be careful that you aren't getting what you pay for, if you know what I mean.

Check out the latest Unofficial Guide because they list lots of Disney-area hotels and rate them.

I just got home and grabbed my Unofficial Guide from 2006. These are the best of the "cheapie" hotels. You can expect to spend around $50/night here.

Econo Lodge Polynesian Resort
Red Roof Inn Kissimmee
Days Inn Eastgate
Extended Stay Convention Center
Extended Stay Universal
Best Western Movieland
Travelodge Suites Eastgate
HoJo Enchanted Land Resort Hotel

Note that I haven't stayed at any of these, so proceed with caution.

Also wanted to say that they ranked the Master's Inn very low - the Maingate one scored a 55 out of 100%, the I-Drive one a 50. By comparison, WDW deluxes score in the 80s-90s, the Moderates score in the 80 ranges, the Values in the 70s and the ones above are in the 60s.

One last thing ;) they rank octopustravel.com as the best deal finder for Orlando-area hotel rooms. They beat other room sellers by 22%!

I really like the Fairfield Inn and Suites on Canada ave one block over from I drive. Rates are really good using the Orlando Magic card. Nice free breakfast too.

I always always check AAA to see how they rate them (plus if you belong you may get a lower rate)
As long as a place is clean, i am ok.... if not, yuck!:snooty:

I second this. I just stay there July 4th and was clean and had excellent breakfast. I use the Orlando Magic Card.
