I don't understand how Priceline works...

I thought one would be able to get hotels at a cheaper price through Priceline.

But the one I was looking at, is quoting the same price as on the Inn's website.

Why would I use Priceline then?

Mousesavers.com has a bit of info on using Priceline. I have used it many times and as long as you do your homework you usually come out with a decent hotel at a great price.

You can also look at hotwire.com. They have decent prices on hotels that are unnamed until you pay for it, however you are able to see some info on the hotel which can help you guess which one it is. Typically, you will get a cheaper price on Priceline but Hotwire offers you more info.

I never book a hotel unless it's through Priceline. You have to be willing to take what you get but if you do a little research on sites like betterbidding you can get an idea of what hotels have been accepting bids. Someone on the Orlando Hotels forum just got the Extended Stay Deluxe for $25/night. I got the Sheraton four Points last July (that would be during high season) for $21/nt. No matter what your price range you can find a deal but it takes a bit of work and knowing how to bid.

The Orlando Hotels and Attractions Forum also has people posting their winning bids in the Priceline thread. I suggest you give it a look.
