But someone sure seems to THINK I am! I will be 30 next Tuesday (the 15th). In the mail yesterday, I had an AARP registration packet, all labled out to me!! I laughed so hard when I saw it. It came with a little "sample" card, so I carried it with me to work today, told people I have been lying about my age all these years. I keep hearing that I don't look a day over 30! It was just too funny!

eek! :earseek: I got one of those, too! Well, it was several years ago... I think I was in my early 30's.

Too funny! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Wonder why they do that?

I searched it up and down for a phone number, but they do not have one. Part of me is VERY tempted to send it in, and see what happens!

I got one when I turned 35. I thought it was hysterical. I kept the card on my fridge for a long, long time. I was tempted to sign up, I bet they get some gooooood discounts!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one getting these 30 years early!

I've gotten two in the past few years. My DH, who is 5 months younger, has never gotten one, though :scratchin

My problem is a little different. My Dmom and I went into Applebee's a couple years ago and I was a few years away from their senior discount. The waitress asked me if I would like my senior discount applied to the bill, I almost dropped my fork and my Dmom was rolling on the floor laughing. I should have just said yes and got the 10%. Instead I very calmly turned to her and said I wasn't OLD enough yet. She looked throughly embarassed. I then said AND YOU REALIZE YOU WON'T BE GETTING A TIP NOW :rotfl2: she said yes as she very sheepishly walked away. Of course after she was out of ear shot Dmom and I had a good laugh and yes we still left her a very nice tip anyway :wizard: Susan

I just had to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY party: from someone else born on August 15th! I will be 26 next Tuesday! :bday:

I've been getting these for several years now (I turned 30 this year). I told my mom I should contact the Social Security Commission and inform them that according to the AARP I'm eligible for retirement.

I not only get AARP stuff but I constantly get info about my Medicare benefits and secondary insurance. I am 33. :sad2:

My DS got a little plastic card with his name on it from AARP last week. He's 15. He didn't see the humor in it, but we thought it was really funny!

I am 37 and have always been told I look young for my age and the other day at Kohl's another woman who I thought looked my age asked me if it was my gradndaughter on my purse. I very politely said no it is my DAUGHTER!

I received my first AARP offer when I was about 35 and DH teased me unmercifully.

So when he turned 50 this year, a paid membership was the perfect gift. He is a card carryin' old man. :teeth:

I got one of those when I was 20. I was living with my Grandmother for a year while I attended college. I have no idea what made them think I was "of age"? I guess just the fact that I shared an address with an AARP member. Who knows?
