Today my son had a mission for me: To go on Superman Ultimate Flight, with him, and LIKE IT!
We got to Six Flags Great Adventure at gate opening.. used the Season pass entrance/lot.. all good. Walk to Superman, fine.. wait in line about 30 minutes.. fine...
Then our turn came... he bounds in and gets the shoulder harness over his head and shows me how the legs harness come over the same time. My son tells me how much I will LOVE THIS and how cool it is....
I am having some slight panic about this... I'm doing ok, sitting in the seat, having legs dangle away, just like any of the other dangly feet ones I have been on... Then I hear the ride OP words... "SINK"... and we do just that... we tilt face down to a "flying" position, and the floor vanishes...
I don't like this.. I know I am secure, but I worry about my son. He is over the height requirement, but he's still 8 years old. He just looks so tiny in these restraints compared to the grown men and women.. and when we sink.. he looks even smaller. I worry about him falling out.. even though he has ridden this before, and no problems (I'm a mom, I worry!)
First the lift hill, in this flying position... I really don't like this, and my son's hands are out in flying position, and now I'm thinking he is really going to fall out! I give him my best mom voice.. put your hands on the BAR! (all the while I am scared to death!)
Thr rest of the ride was a blur. I did not like looking face down to the ground... I did not mind the hills or even going backwards... but the position just freaked me out... thr pretzel roll wasn't bad either... I just felt really out of control on that coaster.. I know the restraints were safe, and its been tested... but I still didn't like it.
But I won't do that ride agian willingly (unless I am supplied with lots of alcohol!)
Now, I liked Dragster better than this... This was not fun!

It was great, I rode well over 10 times in a row, we just switched seats each time the train came into the station.
