I don't know if I can do this again...

Kd I would be getting another doctor especializing on this ASAP. Let me tell you what happened to us :

My daughter complained of pain on her knee , not for too long before I took her to the doctor ( btw she saw a "fill in" doctor ), maybe two weeks. The first doctor checked her out and said she had nothing major just a pulled muscle or growing pains , her plan was ice , ace and wear sneakers and if she did not improve then try physical therapy for a couple of months. I was not convinced of that so I took her to her orthopaedist a few days later. He took an x-ray and right then and there he saw a "lesion" ( I did too , we were both looking at the x-rays at the same time ) but he said before we jump into conclussions let's do an MRI. He warned me not to take too long to have it done , that was a red light for me so I took her the next day. They found that she had a mass on her knee , immediately we were referred to take her to a pediatric oncologist. Four days after the MRI my daughter was seen by her now ortho surgeon and she had a biopsy , her diagnosis was osteosarcoma ( bone cancer ).
I went back to my PCP's office and spoke to her regular doctor and I sent a letter to the practice's headquarters , they were stunned , they didn't know what to do or say to apologize . For a while that doctor did not see any patients in that office but recently I saw her again one day when I went in for myself .
I asked her if she remembered me and she said no , I reminded her who my daughter was and the situation and I told her that I will never have any of my relatives see her again but I hope she learned her lesson and does more tests before she diagnoses anything. If I had followed her advice my daughter's prognosis would have been VERY different , meaning a lot worse.

So....going back to your situation ....I would be looking for another doctor so fast that it would not be funny , five weeks wait is a long time and cancer is not something I would want to wait with. My prayers are with you my friend !!
