I Don't Know, I Don't Speak Wind!!

Saddest Un-Magical Express ride ever right now. DH told me the awful news right away, but I avoided details & definitely kept DD in the Disney bubble. We will have to tell her today, and then she will understand why I kept hugging her so extra-long & hard. Last week, a dear friend's incredible mom finally succumbed to cancer. Then this tragedy. But we have hope, appreciation & each other to keep us moving forward. Thanks, MeMom, for helping us see silver linings that help us cope now & look ahead to many "big, bright, beautiful tomorrows."

Swimming is the one thing Hollie begged to do this past trip. But, I forgot to pack some suits!! Eek!! I told her I promised the next time were were at Disney, she could swim. I think I plan too much stuff for them to do during the day. I need to learn to add swim breaks! ;)

Love Bella's recital pictures! Too cute!!!

Brooklynn was thrilled with the purchase of a Mickey nightlight.

Super cute picture.

Love the hula hoops at Pop! My cousin's daughters are expert hula-hoopers. He's a missionary in Brazil and apparently it's very popular over there. When they were here for Christmas last year, they were hula-hooping and Seth wanted to try. He was only about 15 months old, so of course he couldn't get the hang of it. So the girls would hold up the hula-hoop around him and spin it around, and then he would stand in one spot and turn in circles. It was so cute!

Sad for the departure of Jill, Bella and John. Happy that you're still there. ;)

Oh, I remember that day very well. You were a bundle of mixed emotions.
Late night swims are always a great way to get ready for bed! Just as Mickey waffles are a great way to meet the day!

I remember you both posting about how hard it was to leave WAY back in July! Man, time flies!

Still enjoying the report and reading along!

Happy Holidays!

Great TR, Looking at all the pictures and hearing about your trip, I cannot wait for my January trip.

Before I do responses tonight, I want to let all those know who are not already aware that our DIS friend, Tracy, went on to her reward. I realize that the great beyond is more than we can ever think or imagine. Since I am limited to my own experiences, I have come up with what my version of heaven is - the best of all the things each of us likes times a zillion. My greatest happiness here on Earth is when I am in Disney World with my entire family - everyone enjoying good food, relaxing time, and just hanging out together away from the world's worries and burdens. So, my heaven will be Disney World with no cost, no waits, no rain, etc. multiplied beyond what I can fathom.

And there will be ice cream. ::yes:: :thumbsup2

What are your happiest times and 'things'?
What will it be for you?

I will picture Tracy happy and healthy and having a 'big time' on the other side. I really hope she is telling those folks, those we have known and those we have not, how much she loved her DIStown friends. I know she is telling them about the good times she had with her beautiful little niece, Brielle, on her last trip. It touches my heart that they were able to have that trip. I got a message from Christine today. She treasures the time she was able to spend with her, of course. I am so glad that we have this wonderful Disney-loving community. So to Tracy, until we meet over there - thanks for being a part of it and for being so very positive and encouraging throughout your battle.

If you are so inclined, I am sure thoughts and prayers for those closest to her would be much appreciated.

I thought of Tracy often this afternoon. How wonderful to be able to take that last trip; I'm so glad they were able to go.

I agree, I think heaven is more brilliant & beautiful than we could imagine. My happiness is much like yours, MeMom; I imagine heaven much the same way. :wizard:

It sounds corny, but life is so short, we must all take each moment as a precious gift. We've had many sobering moments in our DIS town & in our world this year, and it makes me realize that much more how special each breath is. To me the lesson in all the hardship is - don't put off that special time with your loved ones. Call your parents & grandparents, brothers and sisters, friends. Put aside past hurts & move forward.

Tracy, my prayer up to you tonight is that you know how loved & special you were. Hugs to you - and say hello to Walt for us! :wizard:

Awww I can definitely see how half of the group staying/leaving would be hard! But I'm sure you and Brooklynn had an awesome time together!

We had a great time doing a whole lot of little things, as you will see, but yes, the parting itself was not fun.

I remember you posting live about that departure. It made me misty then and it's doing it again.

On a lighter note, breakfast sure looked good.:goodvibes

It's a mom thing. Once you have kids, you spend the rest of your life getting misty about stuff.

Jill has said more than once how much she likes the omelets at AoA.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!!
I remember your posts about when some of your group headed home. I think you're right to switch it up and put the small group time at the front end. Much easier!
AofA looks so great - wish we would have had time to go visit it when we were there in October. Next time! Thanks for sharing the pictures!

I just have to say one thing. You have such a way with words of comfort and healing - it's just beautiful how you can say things that really are meaningful and helpful to everyone. I can see why your family and students and church and friends all love you so much. You just find the right words and it all makes sense. You have definitely helped me feel better about all the sadness and tragedy going on lately. It's so hard to think positively and find something good. But what you have shared, and these fun wonderful pictures have really helped!! Thank you.

Okay that seemed like more than one thing!

You are too sweet to say such kind things. If I am able to put words together that make sense for others, then hopefully that is a good thing. I definitely work toward putting a positive spin on anything I can. There are too many negative and sad events in this world, so I try to look beyond and around to see what good can either come from them or when we are through them.

I think you'll enjoy walking around Art of Animation. It is bright and colorful and very fun for the kids.

As I said, so much can get us down, so we have to lift each other up. This has surely been a year of a lot of loss and sickness among people I know.

That would be hard to leave part of the group behind. :( I would NOT want to be the one leaving. :rotfl:

I know! I felt so sorry for Jill. We were all fine in a short time, though, and Brooklynn and Bella both got some good spoiling time. :)

Swimming is the one thing Hollie begged to do this past trip. But, I forgot to pack some suits!! Eek!! I told her I promised the next time were were at Disney, she could swim. I think I plan too much stuff for them to do during the day. I need to learn to add swim breaks! ;)

You remembered the make-up but forgot the swimsuits! :faint: Did she not realize she could have talked you into buying some from the gift shop? :rolleyes1

Brooklynn used to do the same thing, but she can do it for real now. I never could get one of those silly things to stay up - even when I had a waist.

Oh, I remember that day very well. You were a bundle of mixed emotions.
Late night swims are always a great way to get ready for bed! Just as Mickey waffles are a great way to meet the day!

It was an emotional morning. I was sad that Jill was leaving, and I was really going to miss my bright-eyed morning girl.

Late night swims and morning Mickey waffles will be a part of that heaven thing I was talking about earlier. :goodvibes

I remember you both posting about how hard it was to leave WAY back in July! Man, time flies!

Still enjoying the report and reading along!

Happy Holidays!

And Happy Holidays to you, as well!

Do you think I can finish putting up pictures from July 1-5 by the time I leave in 13 weeks?

Great TR, Looking at all the pictures and hearing about your trip, I cannot wait for my January trip.

Glad to have you here!

I love that people can go in January and bring back pictures to share. It helps me make it through the winter. :)

Oh my goodness, Bella is the cutest ballerina!!

She has the perfect long, lanky little body for dancing, and she loves it. She was in her element, for sure.

You remembered the make-up but forgot the swimsuits! :faint: Did she not realize she could have talked you into buying some from the gift shop? :rolleyes1

Yes maam! lol She even walked past them several times. She did end up in the arcade a few times!;)

I actually had Tracy on my mind this morning. Bless her heart! She is a true Angel now. :littleangel:

Catching up

MeMom so true about your words. I know I can peek in and find some comforting words.

So sad for all the suffering for so many. I am keeping all the families of Newtown in my prayers, and Tracy's family as well.
Anytime is a hard time but Holiday time is especially hard.

July 1st- I was on my way down to start my "horrible trip" :rotfl2:

We are so happy to hear this news for her! :goodvibes

We haven't seen the Rockettes yet. That may be something coming up in the next 1-3 years. How long is the show?. :)

Entire thing was close to 2 hours but with a 15 min intermission. Not sure if Brooklyn is doing girlscouts you get 50% off tickets. It's a great show.

I saw the sad news on facebook today. I've been praying for her family. It's so sad to lose a member DisTown. I'm also glad she got one more trip in to her Happy Place.

I had left my phone at home this morning, then dashed home to grab it during morning recess. When I glanced at it during my lunch break I noticed a text from you and Katie. I had made a run to Target and Kohls. I read the sad news. When I got back to school, I had a message from Marc, who had read a message from Christine to us, again, the sad news. Yes, I knew it was time to let our Tracy go, it was time to release her from her suffering. It's amazing that she was able to enjoy the trip not so very long ago. Brielle will miss her and so will we. She was such a joy...

Tomorrow is pajama day. The second graders will arrive to tickets to board the "Polar Express" I will lead them around the school blowing a train whistle. Then we will read the book, and watch the movie. The kids will have a clip board and paper/pencil answering questions about setting, compare/contrast plot, characters, main idea....
no more just watching a movie in this day of state testing! LOL!!!
We will also have cocoa with marshmallows and peppermint sticks and gingerbread cookies.

If you happen to notice my ticker it's off by a day. We are leaving Friday morning. I will work until 9:15 then straight to the airport for a 11:30 flight. We are going to the MVMCP that night.

Prayers for her family. Rest in peace, Tracy. :littleangel:

I wish her family could really know how many people in her DIS world are sending thoughts and prayers their way right now. I think it would have to be of some comfort to them. :)

It is especially hard to lose someone near a holiday, because then for the rest of your life, during that holiday, it's going to come back to you, at least for a few moments.

Entire thing was close to 2 hours but with a 15 min intermission. Not sure if Brooklyn is doing girlscouts you get 50% off tickets. It's a great show.

Yeah, that may be a little long right now. Maybe in a couple of years.

Brooklynn is not doing Girl Scouts. She would love it, I'm sure, but she already has some activities, and I think Jill would have a hard time putting anything else on her own plate! She's stretched pretty thin already. It's nice that the Scouts get that discount. :thumbsup2

Some of our classes did Polar Express activities yesterday. We are really not supposed to show any movies that don't come from our library, so I don't do it. Everybody in the school knows what is going on, though, but I figure the one year I decide to do it, the let's bust the movie watchers crew will show up out of nowhere! :upsidedow Every year, they make a point of telling us not to dare watch Disney movies, because the Disney police send people to schools all the time to bust people. Who knows? I know I saw a teacher watching Little Mermaid earlier this year. I was jealous...but I wasn't jealous enough to risk my job if some movie 'god' was to come along and see what I was doing. I'll just be content to watch legal movies at school and 'illegal' ;) movies at home.

Partying with Mickey and the gang Friday night sounds awesome! :cool1:

I know there are ways we will be able to honor Tracy's memory through Give Kids the World, Disney's Wildlife Conservation Fund, or a cancer organization. That will be a positive thing we can do. :) Like her, I do not care to have a service. I want to be cremated, and then whatever my kids want or need to do for themselves in the way of working through their emotions will be fine with me. I think a big party in DIStown where they can make fun of me and all my silliness and have plenty of laughs sounds fitting. ;)

Sorry to hear of Tracy's passing. I will keep her family and DIS friends in my thoughts and prayers.:grouphug:
