I Don't Know, I Don't Speak Wind!!

Hi Everyone!! Sadly I am back from my trip to Disneyland :(

I love love love your pictures from Coronado springs. That used to be the resort that we always stayed in... that is until we got our DVC. I would love to stay there again someday

This was my third trip to Disneyland and it was truly the best one ever. Nothing will ever compare to WDW, but there are some things that I have to admit are better at DL.

1) I stayed at Grand California. You can literally walk out of your room and be in California adventure. I also got upgraded to park view which was absolutely amazing -- you can walk between parks very quickly.

2) Haunted Mansion was by far the best ride EVER... They had it decorated for nightmare before xmas (I know I sent you FB pics). I wish they would do that at MK

3) New cars land is really really cool.

4) They turn space mountain into ghost galaxy for Halloween. I am not sure if they do that in MK

Negatives
The Customer service at WDW is so much better. Also - when 11am check out occurs, so does all of your perks... you cannot get into pool and your credit card is already closed. you have to get a special pool key and you better make sure you have money or credit cards with you.

There is no pool bar/restaurant. There is a walk up and most of service is done through waitresses around pool. They also don't open till noon which is odd. I had to order room service to pool b/c I wanted to make sure I ate before going to airport.

also - I booked two reservations - one with my DVC points and one through expedia. They could not link my reservation so I had to check out to check back in. UGH -- again the only positive on that was that they gave me a pool view for the second night.

I hope you guys get to experience DL one day. Definitely not the same as WDW, but I really enjoyed it very much.

CSR is so pretty! Even in the rain. ;)

I'm glad you had such a nice weekend MeMom, filled with lots of family and friends. :goodvibes Those are the best ones!

It is. I have walked around quite a bit of this resort on sunny days, and it is beautiful. It'll be interesting to see if Jill ends up staying there this winter/spring.

Well, I hope he eventually finds the "right" girl to fit his ways! :rotfl: I think girls are just naturally a little possessive too. I have Ray on a long leash b/c we are very different people, but there's still a leash there! Trent's history with exes does play into it some too, I'm sure. Maybe she's out there and he will meet her today! I hope he's not dating anyone right now that I just made very mad!

The diet I'm on is the detox portion of TLS Slim program. Anna is a coach on the program and it really does work. The part I'm doing is just to sort of cleanse and get you re-started to start eating right. Here's the website in case he's interested:

http://www.transitionslifestyle.com/index.cfm?action=main.tHome

He'd die from not having protein for 7 days, I'm sure!

I hope he does, too, but I really am better off not thinking of it, because it does make me sad. He's been dating one girl for a while, but a few weeks ago I started hearing the 'You are smothering me' conversation start up on the phone, so who knows? She was here Friday night. I know some of it is the girl, sure, but I blame him for being a stubborn, hard-headed mule, too, who is not good at give and take sometimes. No relationship is going to be built on what he wants out of it, so if he's not willing to bend or willing to tolerate some stuff, then he deserves to have nobody, because it's not all about him. He's a fantastic guy, but he's going to have to learn that no one is going to be that absolute perfect person.

I love fruits and vegetables. I think I just bought my last watermelon of the year, at least here at home. I am sure I will have some good watermelon while I am in Florida.

I didn't know you were a Coronado girl! I'd love to buy a few DVC points someday. Maybe after my house is paid off....

If I ever get to Disneyland, I would love to stay big and stay at the Grand Californian!

I have heard nothing but exciting things about Cars Land. ::yes::

Ohhhh, Burrito the Donkey! He used to be my favorite. I love that he's at Coronado Springs.

I find those new Minnie's the are dressed as princesses to be absolutely adorable! It's a good thing I'm grown up, because man, I would be in trouble if I was younger, wanting to buy all of them!

They dress the little fella up cute at Christmas time, too. That's a cool gift shop, because it has some unique crafty-type items.

I have to show my constraint on pins, books, and kitchen items when in Disney World. Those are the things I would like to have lots of. Really, my pocketbook makes me stop, so I guess I can't even give myself credit for that, to be honest. ;)

I tried putting up more pictures this morning, but Photobucket was being ornery, so I stopped. I will try again tonight.

We'll be at MNSSHP the 8th. Do you want to plan on coming to Pop at 1:30 on the 13th? There will be several DIS friends to meet there!
that should be fine. we have lunch plans at 11 with friends at 50's ptc and then after we have to go to POP to check in. So it works out.

CSR is such a pretty resort. I saw where we stayed in your pics. It was great as it overlooked the lake.

Great pics

Trying to get caught back up before you leave again. Lunch sounded great. I would really like to try that someday. So many good places to eat and so little time.

I'm glad you got some time with all your girls this weekend. Not too much longer until you'll be in the World together.

Great! I am so glad that works out. I like the big group meets, because so many DIS friends get the chance to see each other face to face. Then it's more fun when we're back on the boards that we really kind of know each other in real life. :thumbsup2

I love when I see a room we've stayed in in someone's pictures. :)

I have seven school days left, and then we are off!!!

On the October trip, we are going to Cinderella's Royal Table for the first time. In March, I am hoping to try two more new restaurants - Yak & Yeti and Captain's Grille at Yacht Club.

It is.
And this 55 year old kid likes it, too. Maybe I like it more than the average person, since I am a teacher. I love places, events, etc. that allow kids to learn in a fun way. Every time I go to Animal Kingdom and Epcot, I think how much I would love to get my students there. They would go nuts!

Finishing out our time at Rafiki's...

This is me when I retire and go to work at AK.

I'm not sure about the story behind this. I will have to do some research.

June2012Part1744.jpg

The girls love, love, love their animal friends, and they are always on the hunt for new ones.

Side note: Jill bought one beaded animal for each girl, including Sophie, before the trip was over.

We have certainly contributed our share to this fund!

Again, I'd love to fill a cart full of books to bring home, but gosh, books are expensive!

How many beads does it take to make a large elephant?

The picture that you were not sure about. It is from the movie Fly Away Home. The story follows a young girl from New Zealand who survives a car crash that results in the death of her mother. The young girl is sent to live with her father on an Ontario farm, where she adopts a brood of baby Canada geese. When the birds are imprinted with her as their Mother Goose, she realizes that unless she and her father can teach the birds a migration route from Ontario to North Carolina, the birds will not be able to survive the winter. The solution comes in the form of ultralight aircraft that is used to guide the birds to sanctuary. It is based on a true story. My DD loves animals and we have seen this movie many times.

I love all of your Animal Kingdom pictures. I always have a hard time not spending all of my money there.

I spy my next bead critter! I already have a tiger as it is our school mascot, but I see one to match our new classroom pet!

I also wanted to mention how lovely your friend's home is. That nursery looks like a magazine display!

I am only vaguely familiar with that story, but I thought it was either that story or one like it. Thanks for clarifying. :thumbsup2

You know we are Animal Kingdom people, too! :woohoo:

Need I ask what your pet's name is?

She does have a pretty home. That mancave was built long after the original house, and it is a well-used addition. Mr. Friend is a very successful businessman in Nashville, and Mrs. Friend has never had to work. But, they don't put on airs, and they are very giving with what they have. My boys always got Brother Friend's hand-me-downs as they were growing up, and it was so nice! They mostly wore the shirts, because they were thinner than Brother, but it was all very much appreciated by a single mother raising three kids alone!!! They are good people. ::yes::

We took a cab from Coronado Springs back to Pop Century.

Pop is getting some door work done.

He thought I was crazy, didn't he? ;)

June2012Part1832_zps741d116c.jpg

I can't remember if there was a swim time here, or not. I think the plan was to forego long naps and make it a very early evening in. A short time later, Bella and I headed back out to Magic Kingdom.

We mailed some postcards on our way to the bus stop.

June2012Part1833_zps8f46bac8.jpg

I remember sending Jill a phone picture of Bella fading into sleep on the bus.

Next time we see this, it will have jack-o-lanterns all around.

Did you notice the wait time?

110 minutes?! Oh my word!! Fastpass for sure! I'd say forget it and go back and watch Captain Jack and hang out in Adventureland!

110 minutes?! Oh my word!! Fastpass for sure! I'd say forget it and go back and watch Captain Jack! :)

Jack is not my type, but I would opt for a whole bunch of other things to do in the park rather than wait in a 110 minute line! I am so glad we know this is not the way to do it!

Funny that you ask about the name of our new pet. The first one was named Pascal, unfortunately that poor guy didn't make it so we had a new one come today. Shipped in 24 hours from Orlando, of all places.
He doesn't have a name yet, but the kids gave me a bunch of suggestions!

oooooooooooou, I really want one of those aprons.

:rotfl2:

Thanks for more great pics.

I love the beaded animals! I might have to start collecting those :)

What a lovely party at your friends house!

Can't wait to see y'all in just a few weeks!!!!! :cool1: :cool1:

Wouldn't school cafeteria lunches taste better served on these? :goodvibes

I am going to say YES to that!
I know my lunches taste better on Disney plates. ::yes::
Some of my students like to wash dishes at the end of the day, and they get a kick out of all my different Disney plates.

It will be interesting to see what they come up with. The 'leon' part is lion, so maybe you can do something with that. My warped brain came up with Simba. The chameleon named Simba. :simba: Yeah....I'm so not right in the head.

I had you in mind the whole time I was taking the picture. ;)

I really thought you'd be more interested in the rows of candy, though, but for Dad, an apron it is!

That would make a great collection! They are interesting, and it's a non-Disney Disney thing that could be appreciated by people who aren't into the Mickey scene. :goodvibes

I started my unofficial packing on Sunday. :thumbsup2 I picked up three ponchos yesterday, too, but I am hoping I will not have to use even one of them.
