I Don't Know, I Don't Speak Wind!!

Hi all! I think my mom is slowly falling more in love with Disney. She's always had fun there but it's on another level now. :)

Yesterday she called me, said she watched the Guy Fieri Disneyland Christmas show on Food Network in Friday & said I should watch on Sunday. She was excited & very impressed. So by last night, we had a trip planned over my birthday in February. :)

Another one for the good guys!! :)

I saw that Guy Fieri show, too. It was very good. It is funny, I have not been interested in cooking shows lately ***had a lapband:rotfl:**** , but I did enjoy that one. We do want to get out to California one day, have only been to the airport on the way to Hawaii. :beach:

The Land is the most relaxing ride. We've used it a few times to calm the nerves after the Soarin' rush.

Prayers going out to the expectant mothers. I hope those new blessing hold off just a bit longer.

It's interesting and educational, as well as peaceful. We keep making plans to do the Behind the Seeds tour, but it keeps getting bumped into a future trip - over and over...

I have not heard from Laura, but I do know that Jessica's friend did have her baby boy far too early, and sadly, he did not survive.

John travels to CA with his job occasionally, so I really think Jill is going to get a Disneyland trip within the next five (at most) years. ::yes::

Yay! So excited that you are going for your birthday!!!!

Haven't decided that yet. :upsidedow I talked to Mom tonight and said I'd like to stay a place I haven't, so probably Wilderness Lodge or Bay Lake. We're renting DVC points from one of my aunts so it depends where we find availability. But anything would be fine - I'm just soooooo happy & blessed I get to go!! :cheer2:

Can you tell I moved the alphabetical order around a little bit to send a message to my DIS friends?

Awwww.....:flower3: I have that very same D on my key chain. I think I got it on a 2008 trip and I'm still using it. I like that it can stand for Dawn or Disney. :)

So I've had 3 clients complain about the walk from the Little Mermaid section to the main building at AoA. What did you guys think of it in October?

They are already getting frustrated with finding a place to have the wedding. They are finding out very quickly how much money it costs to do even something simple! I really hope they don't spend a ton on an event. I'd rather see them take a nice trip or put a good down payment on a house or furniture or whatever. It's her deal and her day, though, so whatever she wants will be what we do.

I went through the same thing. We didn't have a regular church then, and every church we looked at wanted to charge an arm and a leg. And I looked at other venues and either I didn't like them or they were too expensive. I was SO stressed about it. Ray kept telling me that I couldn't let the wedding stress me out that much, and I was like, "Once we get the venue nailed down, I won't be stressed. But until we get that done, I can't do ANYTHING ELSE!" We ended up at the Botanical Gardens in Athens and we both fell in love with it. They have several places for weddings there but the Cecil B. Day Chapel was what we loved most. And the best part was it was like $1200 for the entire rental, receptional hall, chairs, chapel and all. That was cheaper than most of the places we had looked. It was perfect. But that was in 2002. I'm sure the price has gone up since then. Not that that helps them at all, but just in case they want to travel to Georgia to get married.....

A quiet street.

Ray and I love to go here to take a break - it's nice and quiet and there's lots of little things to look at. We heard tap dancing from an upstairs window once. :thumbsup2

Awww! I hope I can find this when we are there in 10 days!!:cheer2: The namesake in that picture doesn't even know she is going yet. Gotta get through the rest of this week and then we are surprising her and my niece on Saturday. After that, 4 more days of school and we hit the road. I am so ready for this trip! School has been hectic, as usual, plus I have been dealing with a medical issue. Nothing major has turned up, thankfully, just lots of pokes, prods, and inconveniences. I am off tomorrow for (hopefully) my last doctor's appt. I think she has worked out a solution that will fix me up for the time being. Fingers crossed!!

Well there may be a zillion pictures of the land out there but as I've still never been on the darn attraction, I still really enjoy seeing them!

That fruit waffle looks really good. I was bummed, I'd hoped to try a waffle sandwich in October but they only serve them at lunch. Looks yummy!

Bella is quite the responsible driver.

And in case I forgot to say, congrats to Trent and Brandi! Very exciting and a lovely "welcome" gift on your part.

I love your Land pictures. That ride never gets old! That waffle with fruit looks so good...hopefully they still have them and I will try one!!

Either one would be wonderful. Bay Lake would be cool just for being able to walk to Magic Kingdom, and it would be cool to have an awesome view, if you got lucky. I'd take Wilderness Lodge any day, of course. I like the cozy atmosphere there. :thumbsup2

You know we don't have any complaints about the walks from rooms too food courts. Maybe having to walk through the land of Scar and the hyenas made the walk to the main building seem longer and more ominous. ;) I was too busy taking pictures to think about the walk. It was the same as walking over to the 50's at Pop, in my opinion.

I think Brandi was looking at another place today after school. Her parents were thinking Portland was too far, so I'm pretty sure we can cut anything in GA off the list. Although...I did hear a faint rumor of 'just go to the beach', which I would be ALL FOR.

How exciting! :cheer2:

You better get your 'body wars' situated, friend. ::yes::

Totally worth the journey! ::yes::

I missed out on Casey's in October...how I miss those golden crispy doglets!

No way? No crunchy morsels for Brook? It wasn't a real Disney trip, then. You'll need a do over. :thumbsup2

I'm so sorry for her loss. More prayers for another soul in heaven.

This past year has been full of losses and sadness at illnesses, it seems. I just saw on FB, too, that our DIS friend Tracy is not doing well. I am so glad she got that last Disney trip. :)

Never seen a Mickey pumpkin in progress, or Epcot written in cabbage. or a nine pound lemon??? :faint: Get thyself to that ride, Garden Girl!

I did not know the waffles were only served at lunch. Good information to have. ::yes::

They haven't been around long, and I think they are a huge hit, so I bet they will be around a while.

We passed this little car place...

and moved on toward Storybook Circus.

We've been in this new queue 2-3 times now, and we like it. The girls like climbing around, and it gives the grown-ups a chance to chill out for a few minutes.

Oh my goodness! This is gorgeous!

We have had very heavy hearts around our house this evening after reading the post about our friend Tracy. :littleangel:
This is going to be such a devastating loss for her niece Brielle. They were so close....

I have to ask, is it hard to get the girls out of the play area when it's time to ride? I can just see me trying to pull my kids out when they were little.

Love the beautiful night photos of the MK.

Prayers are much appreciated for my sweet sister in law and the babies (a pirate: and princess:). She spent a few days at the hospital with contractions and such, but did get to go back home for bedrest. Each day is so important, and she still has weeks to go before delivery would not be risky. Thanks DISTOWN!

Yes, she is losing someone very special to her. That hits a person hard for a long time - and then forever in many ways. I am very glad they got to take that last trip. ::yes::

Wht happened? I'm so behind!!!:sad2:

Tracy is not doing well. She fought this cancer battle with an awesome attitude and was always positive about it.

Not really. If we had let them stay and play, they would have been happy with that, but they didn't balk at leaving when our buzzer went off.

That's what we are here for - support and encouragement, helping people through tough times and celebrating the good. :thumbsup2 We all hope everything goes wonderfully well for your sister-in-law and those sweet babies.

For anyone who is keeping up with all of the people I have known this year with problems and losses, because this has certainly been the year of that...

I attended the memorial visitation for my friend, Bill Carlisle, yesterday. I only say his full name because I had told you when it happened that he was a Grand Old Opry musician, as his dad (known as Jumpin' Bill Carlisle) before him, so you may have heard of him if you have ever been into the old time country music. He was the guy who had been paralyzed in a motorcycle accident a couple of years ago. He passed away last weekend. I did not know the full story until recently, and I thought it was interesting, so I will share it with you. Bill was helping to support a mission for fresh water for an African village through his home congregation. He had donated that motorcycle to be sold at a fundraiser. It brought in $500 for the mission. He was delivering it to the new owner when he wrecked and was paralyzed. That is definitely a sad turn of events, but I have to think how wonderful it would be for your last act in this world to be something so giving, serving, and self-sacrificing.

Have a good day, DIS friends!
