Look at ebay auction: 2173277040

Isn't that just a fantasy pin with a Figment add-on? Is the add-on special or something? Or is this seller just fooling a ton of people?

That's all it is! The base has been made by someone and they add a $2.50 (I think that is the price) build a pin to it.

Hey Sharon,
The base is a fantasy pin. I've been trying to find out who made them, but had no such luck as of yet. I guess you did't see what the Tinkerbell pin like this went for on Ebay. If my memory is correct, it went for close to $125.00. Pretty crazy huh?

Sharon,
Remember the September event. We were all shoping at the little store under Spacship Earth in Epcot. The man who made those fantasy pins had his son walking around the store selling those pins for $15.
His wife and he had lanyards full of them but the kid was the one selling them.
He has posted quite a few on e-bay in the past year and gotten quite a bit of money for them. I would think Disney could do something about him. Peggie

There was also a similar auction discussed a while back with a Stitch add-on attached to the fantasy base. That one, though, wasn't as clear as this one that the base is a fantasy pin.

I'm surprised that Disney didn't kick the family out of the parks for selling the fantasy pins. Of course, they might not have been aware of it. I don't remember running into them, but I know I'd have reported them if they tried to sell me one of the fantasy bases.

Everyone will have an opinion of course, but this limited to 500 fantasy pin based on the build a pin concept has been wildly successful, from what I see. I obtained one in a multi pin purchase of lilo and stitch pins and the seller never misrepresented what the pin was. I think that most people find it easy to attack success, if I would have thought of the idea first I would have been lucky. The success of stitch themed pins has spawned some pretty awful attempts to grab a buck... hmm let's bring patriotism the flag, stitch, and x-men into a fantsasy pin my goal is to celebrate these not make money!
The only thing I might question is selling pins at a Disney venue under false pretense, however that seems to be heresay. I have met the family at WDW and have found them to be fun disney enthusiasts and nice people!
my opinion is just that, not ripping on anyone for theirs!

There are many people out there that get "mad" when they see someone making money off a fantasy or bootleg pin. Just remember that if someone is willing to pay big money for any pin we should not say anything about it!! That is their business and if the seller is lucky to make money then more power to them!! Disney is making tons of money off these pins, so who cares if some one out there makes a few bucks as well!! Many people on these boards probably have some of these pins and paid a good penny for them!! :p
