I don't do Teacups - but what about Roger Rabbit?

Can you really control the car and keep from spinning around? I can ride all alone without any children (we have 3), so I will be in complete control of the steering wheel. Or we can do what we do at Astro Orbiter and have a ride swap (where I am the one who cannot ride!) ha! The cast member said, 'Oh, your daughter is tall enough to ride!'. I said, 'I know, but its me who doesn't want to ride!' A man behind me scoffed at me and said it was only the astro orbiter. I told him that I am over 40 now, and I don't have to ride anything I don't want to any more! I'm not trying to impress anyone.

So - can I take the Rabbit? Or should I just wimp out and pass?

I do okay on Toy Story, Big Thunder, and all the dark rides. Just no heights and NO spinning!

If you don't spin it you won't spin in circles, but it does turn by itself this way and that maybe a bit more than other dark rides. I don't know if that amount would be enough to bother you or not. Maybe your kids can report back to you. Don't forget, Roger is not connected to the other FPs so you can get one for it and for another ride at the same time.

I don't do teacups either but Roger is fine like Pinkbudgie said just don't turn the wheel to spin it it will go around on it's own but nothing as violent or sickening as the teacups

i can't do teacups, astro orbiter, OR toy story mania, but for some reason i can handle roger rabbit just fine. it's easy enough (at least, i find it to be) to look around the room and focus on something that isn't moving, even when your buggy is.

The thing I didn't like about RR is that it kind of spins on its own, and you can try to wrestle with the steering wheel to keep it from spinning too much. But the wheel is SO hard to steer. I felt like I was pulling my bicep muscles trying to keep it on a reasonable course.

I have inner ear issues and I don't do well with a lot of spinning, either, so I was reluctant to try the teacups. My daughter made me, though, and it wasn't as bad as I thought. I was able to handle RR ok, too, even though I didn't like wrestling with that steering wheel!

I absolutely cannot do any spinning... DH told me I would be fine on Roger, we just wouldn't spin it. I was very nervous, but.... I was fine!

I know some people like it, but I think RR is so overrated. I have a theory that they offer FP on it just to get more people out of the main park and into TT!!! Such a long line and such a short unimpressive ride. I guess it doesnt help that I dont really associate RR with DL anyway. I would skip it!

It's worth a try if you have never seen it. But it isn't my favorite ride either. I can take it or leave it. But I would never wait in a long line to see it. Use FP since it doesn't take away from you getting one somewhere else also.

I can't take Teacups, but I can handle RR. My (not so) DS 19 kept spinning it in June and even that didn't bother me. Teacups, forget it; I would be sick!

On a side note, I've never been on TSM. Is it a spinning ride? I heard it was like Buzz. Is it worse than RR?

TSM doesn't really spin - you just kind of whip around the corners, no big deal.

Although once last trip we did make about 2 complete spins in the part before the first game! I don't know what was up with that... I almost panicked wondering if the ride had gone haywire or something, but then it stopped. Whew!

lol, i guess i should clarify what about TSMM makes me motion sick. when the buggy whips around the corners, you are often very close to a wall (inches, seemingly), which causes me to be unable to focus on something that isn't moving. i totally wasn't expecting motion sickness on this ride (i'm not a person who gets motion sick really easily or really often), but my DS11and I BOTH got sick on TSMM, and don't ride it anymore (even though we LOVED the game! can't wait till we get it for our Wii!)

also, as others have stated (i was going to but didn't know if i'd get blasted for it, lol), RR isn't a ride to stand in line for. we NEVER even bother with it unless the line is 20 minutes or less. personally, i would never bother getting a FP for it. i don't really enjoy it (because i spend my entire time on it trying to focus on something stationary, lol), and i only ride it so the kids can. we only ride it every 3rd or 4th visit to DLR.

I used to be able to handle the Teacups, but they have sped up over the years - even when you don't touch the wheel at all - so now it is just barely tolerable for me if I leave the wheel alone, and I absolutely cannot stand spinning it. However, I love Roger Rabbit. I think it is a lot of fun, it is one of my favorites, but I will only get in the line if it is reasonably short. Sometimes the sign will say 40 minutes, but it takes much less time than that. The last few times we went on it, the line was only about 5 or 10 minutes. And TSMM is my favorite of all of them, so no problem with that.

yeah, we were REALLY bummed when we both realized we weren't going to be able to ride it anymore without feeling sick. the sides of the buggies are tall, and just for a few seconds, it seemed our vision was totally blocked (except for that very short distance between us and the tall walls) so we couldn't even look at something "further away" out of the sides of the buggy to focus on to avoid feeling sick.

it's SUCH a fun game you get to play inside the ride, though! i absolutely loved it. i might actually try riding it again at night as our last ride, so that i can just go back to the hotel afterwards and sleep off the motion sickness. i actually considered trying to close my eyes on that part in order to ride it again, but that would probably make it worse (movement with my eyes closed usually doesn't work out well for me, lol). i wonder if it would work to look down at your hands or feet just for those few seconds while the buggy whips around the corner???
