I know NOTHING about scrapbooking. zero zip zilch :confused3 But I want to make my kids some autograph books, I know I can get some cute pages to print out here on the DIS. As silly as this sounds how to I put it into a book? Is there a kit I buy? I am hopelessly clueless:rotfl2:. PLEASE HELP lol

I actually purchased an artist sketch book (mine is 4x6, but there are larger books) and covered it using scrapbook paper. I only covered the front cover and decorated it with Disney-themed stickers.

The key was using sticky strip to really keep the heavy paper on the book. It's a SUPER sticky double-sided tape. I taped the crap out of the front cover and layed the book on the paper where I wanted. Then I folded the top and bottom pieces over and literally wrapped the long side like a Christmas present. I cut a smaller piece and taped that over the exposed edges on the inside of the front cover. Once that was done, I decorated.

Here are some examples:
The one on the left is the 2nd book I made. The right one is the first book I ever covered. I used the blue book as a template and had Hobby Lobby cut 2 pieces of mat board to size. I punched holed down the binding using my crop-o-dile and closed it with a pinch binding. I filled the book with white cardstock.

Here is DDs book for our upcoming trip.

This one is the blue book recovered. It had been on 2 trips and was desperately worse for wear. DS decided he wanted a new book so we pulled off the old paper and recovered the sketch book.

However, there are some folks that will create a digital scrapbook online and have it printed. It all depends on how much work you want to do.

P.S. - whatever way you decide to go, I cannot stress enough to keeping it in a ziplock baggie during your trip.

Another idea (which is much easier, I've made several autograph books and wanted something different fo this trip) get a plain 8 x 10 photo mat--holds a 5 x 7 photo--and have the characters sign that. Then after the trip you can frame your favorite picture with all the autographs you collected :) I was able to fit 10-12 autographs on each photo mat. And yes carry whatever you choose in a ziploc bag ;) Hope you have a wonderful trip :)

Here are a couple pics:

I used to do something fairly similar when my girls were still small. I would pre-cut several sheets of scrapbooking paper and carry them with us in a zip-loc baggie. I would have each character sign a different page and we would take a couple of pictures of them with my daughters. When we got home, we would sort through and print off the best pictures of each character to attach to each page. Then the girls could assemble their books in whatever order they wanted.

The books moved out when the girls did, so I can't even take a picture for you. Sorry.

HI!!.. i came by to see if you started the PTR yet :) ill be ready to follow along when you do..

- ps i no nothing about scrap-booking!! but i was tempted to buythe Kit when i was in Disney last week ! lol :) :) buttt.. i knew i wouldn't get it to.. urgg.. im the worst!! but ID LOVE to do one.. maybe one day ill find the time

For our 1st trip I am making the girls autograph books using my cinch or bind it all and just plain paper on inside. Plain on decorating the outside covers in Disney paper. The entire book size I plan on being about 4x6.
