:wave2::dance3::dancer:party::jumping1::figment: When I first joined this board there were many other DISigners active. In fact I may be the only one still active from that time.:scared1: One of the great DISigners was a lady named TripleFigs. Her posting site is still active and people still download her work. (she did the first What Happens in Disney, Stays in Disney.) if anyone is interested in her work, check out the sticky Meet The DISigners and she is one of the last in the no longer DISigning post. Well one day TripleFigs posted Chrismas DISigns for all of the resorts.

I loved it and at the time I mostly stayed at Wilderness Lodge. So I asked permission to cut out the Mickey Head, clean it up and use it in a new DISign. & I made this.

So then I bought at Animal Kingdom & Boardwalk and I wanted to make one for those resorts. I could just clean up the ones TripleFig had, but I wanted to do it myself. Dom who has done all my avatars, helped me and made me some ears and did the ball for Animal Kingdom. However, he is a PSE user, not PI so couldn't give me step by step directions to PI. He would have made them for me, but it was my goal to do myself.

One day I was talking to Millie (thru cyber space) and she told me she was a PI user. I told her of my dream to make one the DISigns above. So she did a step by step tutorial for me and below are the results. After many repeats and much :badpc::furious:, I managed to make the following.

Now I am still obsessing over the color of the frame, but I am pretty happy with everything else.

So I did it & I want to thank Triple Figs for the idea, Dom for helping me with the AK one and Millie for doing step by step directions that I was able to follow. & at the end of the day that's what this board is all about. teaching and helping others. So when I get home from work I will be making a donation to GKTW, thanking the DISigners of the Creative DISign boards. Have a great daypixiedust: Penny:hippie:

I think that your disigns turned out great, and I love the fact that this is a learning thread. Thank you, and all the Disigners that take time out of your lives to make our Disney vacation just that much more magical.pixiedust:

Looks great, Penny! You did a great job! Woohoo! :woohoo:

I didn't know Millie uses PhotoImpact (PI) too. Yea! I love PI! It's a great program. :artist:

Well Done!:cool1:

I know this has been something you have been working on for awhile and I think the results of all your hard work have really paid off.
The DISigns looks great!:artist:

Hugs Mel

Dang! I was hoping this would force you to come over to the dark side and learn PSE.

Seriously though it looks good! My only suggestion would be to add a little more space between the words and the heart. I found the "Is" a bit hard to read.

You did an excellant job on those. Think you should practice with a Beach Club Resort next. :lmao: ::yes::

Lori

and now you've inspired me, Penny! Beach Club it is! but then no more hijacking!

BeachClubFisheye1.jpg

Did I come close to the effect?

Looks good. I am going to put a link over on the Beach Club & BCV page.:goodvibes
Dom - Now I don't have to come to the dark side. Now I made the shirt I don't know that I am going to have time to get it ironed on. We just found out today that settlement is 98% on for next Friday. So much to do and pack and so little time. Yikes...........................
Thanks everyone for the kind words.
YoYo, glad to see another person who is a PI person. :goodvibes

Great job Penny,
Once upon a time I used photo impact and knew how to make the globes, after I got photo shop I neglected PI and now for the life of me I can't remember how to make the globes.

Looks great Penny! Glad to help and glad you understood my instructions. Sometimes I don't even understand what I write. :cool1: Have fun on your vacation and good luck with everything going on with the house! :goodvibes

Thanks for your version of the Beach Club. It's really very nice.

Question for you, seems that some of the disigns would be a bit too large to fit 8x10 or full size transfer paper. I'm not very sharp with this sort of thing but would you know what I can do to reduce the size just a bit?

Thanks,
Lori

Great job, Penny!

I'm still around from those days, but I don't have time for much any more.

I'm trying to remember the designer who first made those types of globes. She was a graphic artist (or some other professional) and was phenomenal.

Hey there Beth, I thought it was TripleFigs who did it? Anyway that's who gave me permission to take it out of her Christmas DISigns. It is so interesting to me, the people who come/go. When people go I get so depressed thinking who is going to fill their void, but like anything, someone else comes along and takes their place. However there are a few great DISigners that stand alone. I am fortunate to have worked with many of them on this board and it is always exciting to me to see a new bunch that rivals the old bunch.:thumbsup2

The boards do get busy. However, I have no children and this is a stress reliever for me. I like it when the biggest problem I have is what font goes with this DISign. :lmao: Hope life is good for you and continues to get even better. Take care, P

We do it because we love it. :thumbsup2 Thanks for the kudos.:goodvibes

3 PI Users - Another person to learn from:goodvibes

Dom - Saved two pins for your kidlets. However with all the packing I have been doing I can't find them now. I am sure they will turn up. I took your advice about the "Is" and moved it over some. I also tried a new font and it's clearer. Both are below. Of course my next goal now is to make this Avatar that you made for me.

Then I will be queen of the hill.;)

Lori

Marion did it for you. :goodvibes If you want Home is Where the Heart is on it (so it looks like the ones above) ask her since it's her globe. If she's too busy I will recreate the globe and make it from scratch when I get back and settled in my new house. P:thumbsup2

Boy do I understand that:eek: I have notes written on notes to remind me how to do things. I spent 4 hours one day writing out stuff on my fonts as I couldn't remember what they look like.:lmao:

Thanks Millie, it only took me a few months to finish it. :rolleyes1 However, sometimes life gets in the way. Thanks for all the tips.:worship:

Lori - everything I make is either 8/5x11 for a shirt or 4x6 for a card and you can size them accordingly. Sometimes I will make something that is 8.5 inches wide and only 10" long, but that should be obvious when you set it up to print. enjoy:flower3: Penny

Penny, that one was Triplefigs, but there was someone else who made the spheres, too. I cannot remember her name, but she had professional software and did some great work. She fairly quickly became too busy with "real life" and stopped designing.

There are definitely many fantastic designers here--past and present.

I agree that it is very fun and stress-relieving work, but somehow the rest of my life seems to always get in the way. I enjoy hanging out and seeing what everyone else comes up with. Every once in a while, I'll find a thread that isn't getting any action and try to do a design or two.

Thanks for the clarification Beth. Could have been Marti of Julia&Nick's Mom or anyone of a myriad of DISigners that contiributed so much. :thumbsup2 Glad you stick around and jump in sometimes. pixiedust:
