I called yesterday to see if I got the BW view, and was told that I only had it for one of my three nights. I'm not upset at all since I only made this reservation last week.

It just goes to prove that they must be doing this in the order in which the reservations were made.

So......does this mean that I'll be staring at Pennywise the clown for 4 days?!

Did you keep the one BW night, or did you push everything over to a G/P view? If it were me, I'd move it all to G/P view... the view is nice, but changing rooms would be too much of a bother.

I wonder how many would actually go with a split ressie???

No way I'd split the reservation. The view isn't that important and, having just made the reservation last week, I didn't expect to get it. I only called because I was curious to see if they were doing these in date order. It's reassuring that they are.

I just hope that I'm not going to be looking at that freaky clown. YIKES!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe they can create a "medical need" category for those with an overwhelming fear of circus performers. ;) ;)

Regina....no need to be spreading undue panic about clown pool views among our impressionable folks here! :p

Thanks for reporting that the system does seem to be getting implemented.

I must say, I'd hate to be the check-in CM who gets a guest with a confirmation saying BW view and find that somehow they overbooked that view!!!

So Granny, should I test the "hissy fit at check-in" theory to see if I can get the BW view??;) (Just kiddin')

Pam, remind me to tell you about the time we unwittingly ended up staying at a Marriott that was hosting the New England Clown Convention.

Reg, if I were you, I'd try the "hissy-fit" only if the view has an evil clown staring back at you. You never know ...it may come to life while you are asleep. Eeek!

LOL....I think you should be warned that with this new change, Disney has given check-in CM's the right to put their palm up to your face and tell you to "talk to the hand"!! :p

I'll end my day with "now I lay me down to sleeps, don't let the clown get me, it gives me the creeps.;) :p

I have a ressie for BW for September. We booked at the 7 months window since this is not our home resort and the only available was preferred view.

All of this new discussion about views is soooooooo confusing to me. First off, we don't want a BW view, I would rather have a water view but I also don't want a Courtyard view. SHouldn't Courtyard views be considered the standard rooms and be charged the standard points not the preferred??

Should I be calling Member Services or am I just going to add to their level of Chaos and Mayhem over there??? If I booked a preferred view, what should I expect?

( makes me wish I was staying at my own home resort since we don't seem to have these issues.... )

You could request a canal view. Not all of the pool/garden views overlook the main pool.

Lisa

Thanks for the quick response Lisa!!

I guess what you're suggesting then is that I SHOULD call back?? A "water" view is perfect to me. Whether it is the pool or the canal really doesn't matter to me.

I guess I was under the wrong impression that preferred would be just that. Now, you must request preferred view and then in addition, either water or BW view? Is that correct? And where might they "place" you if you are strictly preferred view and booked it 7 months out? Obviously not on the Boardwalk itself but I didn't want that anyway.

Why is this so confusing to me? Disney builds such beautiful places with wonderful characteristics and little corners, etc. but I remember booking the hotels on the ocean being much easier. You had 2 prices and each one came with a certain view. A. oceanview B. parking lot view. Very simple for my pea brain!!

Lori, what do you mean by "courtyard" view? I don't believe there is such a thing at the BWV! The preferred views all have a view of water don't they? (honestly, I've never stayed in a preferred view that wasn't a BW view....so correct me if I'm wrong)

We did have a room over the village green before....and I believe this is considered a boardwalk view. We did have a view of the lake as well as of the boardwalk and lawn.

Sorry Lesley, you are right.

It is not a courtyard view, it is called a pool/garden view. And no, not all preferred point rooms are water according to Member service.

I called Member Services and asked just where a Preferred point paying DVC member would be assigned if they had not requested a view. She told me pool/garden and I told her I understand where the main and quiet pools are but could she explain where the "garden" was....and she could not.

Oh, well. I guess I'm not the only one who is confused. I'm looking at a map of the BWV and I still can't really tell where they might be located. I teased her and told her to switch me to the BCV since they don't seem to be having these same problems....she told me at least 90 people a day come to the check in desk and complain about their requests not being met, thus they tried to change things around.
