I finally did it!!! I signed up at a fitness center and hired a personal trainer. I have never felt this motivated about loosing weight before so I figured now was the time to do something about it. It´s very expensive so I really need to stay motivated and get that extra weight off.

I know it won´t be easy and that I´ll probably fall off the wagon from time to time but I also know I CAN do it.

So why don´t you make my day and chime in with your success stories :)

No success story to share, just wanted to say congrats and good luck. After a LONG summer of settling into a new house, I'm back to the gym on Tuesday when school finally starts!

with that attitude you will succeed. no major story for me, just a decision to improve my health based on my family history. any weight loss is just an extra bonus. healthy eating and exercising, for me, is something i have to work at. keep working and being positive. if you do fall off the wagon, jump up and get back on. you can do it.

Thanks! Getting healthier is the biggest issue for me too. My mother died when she was 50 of a heart attack. She had been severly overweight her entire life. I want to stay on this planet for many more years!!!

Just a congrats here! I did start the summer committing to myself that I would work out to tone up. I always say that and always make it through May and June, only to stop dead and never do a thing for the rest of the year. This year, I kept my routine going right through the summer and have seen a very nice improvement in my body. When I returned to work last week, 3 people asked me if I had lost weight which I did not, just got in a little better shape. It feels SO good to keep the routine going and to feel the muscles in my legs. Now the challenge is how to keep a routine while I am in school... gotta not go back to jiggle! Good luck to you!!

That is the smartest and best thing you can do for yourself. A good personal trainer will teach you how to lift weight using correct form and technique. This is the most important thing to learn as you will get the best result. Do not waste your time on money having her train you in anything cardio. I usually weight train in muscle groups 4 times a week always using my cardio as a warm-up for my lifting. Your personal trainer should be able to provide you with diet and supplement info. My advice....never eat anything white.....except caulifower if you like it :goodvibes
Remember that what you put into it is what you will get out of it. I began with a personal trainer over 10 years ago, lost 80 lbs. and have kept it off. I used my trainer for 2 years and then took over for myself from there.
You absolutely can do it!!

I'll be on the same journey! I officially start on Tuesday. School will be in session for the children and it will be easier for me to enact some changes in my diet and activity. Slow changes and I'll build from there.

I found a neat tool on this website:

http://www.prevention.com/cda/categorypage.do?channel=weight.loss&category=tools.quizzes

If you click on the, "my weight loss" tab on the left you'll see a great health tracker. It's comprehensive! By far the best tool I've found online.

I plan to start exercising as well. Walking daily and going to the gym. :)

Good luck! I hope the tool helps! :goodvibes

I made my schedule fit my work schedule so that I always train on my way to or from work. Good luck on keeping your routine!

Wow. Congrats on your weightloss and for keeping it off. This is exactly the kind of story I needed to hear :) I really want/need to loose 50 lbs.

Good luck with your plan and thanks for the link. Going to check it out now :)

Yeah! Just finished by first whole week and was today 2,5lbs lighter than when I started working out last monday.:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: I´ve really been good at watching what I eat. I actually eat more than before, but a lot healthier and no sweets.:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2

Just remember to be patient with yourself. You may see dramatic weight loss in the beginning and then may go weeks without the scale moving. Give it time. You'll weight much less a year from now if you just keep at it.

You may fall off the wagon, so to speak. One meal won't kill you but day after day, week after week will.

Slow changes really tend to stick. Good for you for taking time for you!

Good for you!! I hope it works out well..:goodvibes

Congratulations. I've lost more than 20 lbs between April and August by dieting (eating less and especially less sugar) and keeping up with jogging.

No success story here, I just wanted to say that I'm sure you'll do fine as long as you stick with it!:thumbsup2

No success story here, but good for you!! I wish I had that motivation!

Good for you! Not really a "success story" but I was 190 and now I'm in the 170-175 range. But I still have a long way to go!
Good luck to you!

Thanks everyone! :)

Every pound counts so yours surely is a success story! Well done :)

OP I am joining a gym next week - I am excited and terrified. My ambition to lose weight and buy smaller clothes I hope outweighs my laziness when its time to go.

Keep us posted.

Just a quick update. After sticking to my plan for 3 1/2 weeks I have lost 6lbs. and lots of inches. 3.5" of my stomach area, 3" of my breast area, 2" of my thighs and 1/2" of each arm. So HAPPY :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Congrats. I must return to the gym on Monday. I got lazy last week and didn't go 1 time :(.

I did do a WHOLE lotta yard work so I wasn't complete slacking, but I'm feeling sluggish!
