Well I did it! I just bought at SSR party: I think it will really hit me when I get the envelope of all of the paperwork to fill in :p

My guide is actually at Disneyland. Very nice woman by the name of Nelida.

She did tell me that there will be a price increase on March 31.

:thanks: To all of the posters on here. I hardly had to ask any questions because others had the same ones!

Debbie

Congratulations!! We are in the final stages of trying to decide. I have read all of the threads on here and everyone seems to think it is the best thing to do but it is just taking that final plunge. We stayed BWI Deluxe Concierge our last trip and decided if we did no do DVC, we would do this every time, which in the long run would wind up being a lot more $$$.. All of you DVC members---HELP!! We have been working with Gib and he has points for us at the BWV---do we go for it?? We would be at Disney every other year if not more. My boss said it is sick to think about how much money we spend on our trips. He says we should go other places and that I am obsessed. He also said that timeshares are a waste. He had me in tears Tuesday about it all. I know not everyone likes Disney but I really don't feel like I should be considered a freak because we spend $$ on vacations at Disney. He spends plenty of $$ on things like paintings and sculptures, as well as an arcade game. Am I wrong to be upset that he makes me feel this way?? Thanks for any advice!

Hey Deb , way KEWL , congrats and Welcome Home.

Don't let someone else that doesn't go to disney ever make you feel that way. We bought into DVC 2 years ago. It was the best decision for us!! But then again we spent a lot of money for a trip to the WL. That money alone would have been 1/2 of your vacation club. It's not for everyone, but if you find yourself going at least every other year, then I think it's worth it. Trust me people think we are crazy because now we will go every year. But it's what we like, and if they don't like it, too bad for them. I say that if you want to buy, then buy!! :flower3: pixiedust:

:thumbsup2 :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Our friends tell us there are support groups for people like us!! We took 4-5 weeks a year in WDW on vacations each year for the past 10 years. I regret every moment not buying into the DVC until this year. What a waste of money.
My DH retired from the USAF and has been all over the world. He tells others that there is nothing more safe, more clean, more wholesome, more enchanting, more entertaining, more relaxing than WDW. It's what you enjoy that matters. I have people saying to me, "So, do you do the same thing everytime you go? You go on the same rides? You visit the parks over and over? Don't you get bored?" They don't understand the mystique of WDW, or that there is more than rides and parks. It is the whole experience. The resorts are beautiful, dining is endless, there is always something new or old or familiar to experience. Most people who criticize don't know that WDW is more than just the Magic Kingdom. Although, I must say that I could sit on Main Street and just take it all in for hours. You have to love Walt and what he dreamed of, the imaginations of others, and what envisionaries they are. I am amazed at how creative people are and feel so sad that Walt can't be here to see how wonderful his Disney World is. That is what makes it all so special for me. Where can you hear beautiful music no matter where you go in Disney? They make sure that your experience is magical, it takes you away to a land of fantasy and escape. Just do what you want to do and forget those who don't understand us.

2giddy4wdw--Thanks for the words of wisdom. Again, we have pretty much decided it would be the best thing. I know I can't worry about what other people think. The biggest problem has been that when people come in to my office at work, they see all Mickey and Disney. Then when they ask about it, my boss gets mad, even though I don't bring it up. He says that I need that stuff in my office though to keep my spirits up. So it is kind of a catch-22. I think we will call Gib tomorrow and take the plunge. DH is all for it which is a shock! I thought it would take years to convince him. Anyway, we will do it and I just won't talk about it at work. He doesn't need to know where we go on vacation although he will have a pretty good idea!!! :teeth: :lmao:

:welcome: Welcome Home! :welcome:
I sure hope you enjoy your DVC as much as we enjoy ours!
