After fruitless recruitment attempts (boo to my friends  ), my mom finally suggested I go solo. The thought had never occured to me before. I've gone on vacations alone, but the idea of Disney alone was foreign. I thought about it and finally decided, yeah, go solo. I just booked this morning. Seven nights at POFQ for September '08. :woohoo:

Congrats!! i think you'll have a blast!! I would definately do Disney solo!

I've done WDW solo and LOVED it.
I did occasionally miss having someone to share a particular experience with but eating when I want, riding what I want and coming and going from the parks and swimming when I want made the trip great.
I don't mind eating alone and occasionally talked to someone in line, ect.
I'd do it again if I couldn't get anyone to go with me.

I would love to go alone- leave the husband and 2 sons home to fend for themselves, I probably wouldn't have a house left to go home to- ha!! I also would eat when I want, go where I want, stuff like that!!

Congrats! I'm doing my first solo trip in 5 months! Can't wait!

I have done WDW solo before and it was great!!!! The best part was people watching and knowing I didn't have to deal with any family melt downs. I found people to talk with here and there. It was great using the single riders line too. Enjoy!!!!!

This time in one week I'll be on my way to the airport for a 14 day/13 night solo trip! (Friend coming from IL for 2 nights to help me celebrate my 50th birthday)
DH & DS15 are staying home - they're not into Disney or Off Kilter the way I am!

Did my first solo week this past April and had fun. I meet ppl everywhere I go especially seeing some of the same ppl at the Off Kilter shows!
Mar 06 I did 3 solo days. Keeps getting longer each solo trip.

You will love solo! So much time to interact with the characters and cast members....the single rider lines....I get the greatest photography shots solo...eating when and where you want....(who's to say a Dole Whip doesnt make a great breakfast)

Keep in mind you will not be really alone there are a couple thousand of your fellow Disser's there that week too. Set up a meet!

I've never been solo...but it is a fantasy of mine. I would love to go where I want to and take time to soak in all the disney atmosphere without any wining or needing to rush to avoid a toddler meltdown. mmmmmm just daydreaming now......:mickeybar

I'm a month away from my 2nd annual solo Disney trip...abandoning DH and 2 almost-grown, non-Disney fanatical children to indulge my fantasies of alone-time (along with 15,000 of my closest friends) with my favorite mouse. Ahhh, the mind of a perimenopausal maniac!

Isn't it great! I just realized I am 28 days and counting for my solo trip! Course I'm an old hand at solo trips and Disney planning and got my schedule out this evening and was looking it over and realized I didn't write down two of my ADR #'s. duh.....

I have yet to get the extra memory card for my camera and I'm thinking of prepurchasing the photo CD, but other than that and watching the weather forecasts so I can finish my packing everything else is done!

Can't wait! Let's hope the time flies!

Thats wonderful, so envious of you:goodvibes I've tried to book a solo trip 3 times now and every time I've ended up taking people with me, which was lovely but to not have to compromise and wander as long as I like in World Showcase would be wonderful. You will have a wonderful time:thumbsup2
