I could use a little ticket advice. We are going to WDW in September and we'll have 12 full days for which we need to schedule activities. We were thinking about 7 or so days at the disney parks, about 2 days at Universal, and 3 or so days poolside for Bloody Marys (and possibly a short swim). Of course we may allocate the days differently, maybe fewer at disney and maybe a day at another Orlando attraction.

So what kind of tickets should I buy for the disney parks? The main consideration is price, and UPH's seem kind of expensive.

Don't get UPH if you're only planning to be in one of the parks for 7 of your 12 days. You must buy UPH passes for the entire length of your stay, so you'd be paying for days you don't need or plan to use.

Get a Park Hopper Pluss pass. The only difference is that unused PHP days never expire and PHP passes do NOT include DQ. If you get a 7 day PHP, you'll get 7 days of admission to the major parks (MK, AK, EPCOT and MGM) and 4 opportunites to visit one of the waterparks or the clubs on Pleasure Island after 7 pm.

I believe the AP becomes cost effective at 8 days. If you think there is any chance that you might spend part of 8 days at Disney, or if you are going to return in less than 12 months, that's a great way to go.

I agree with Micca.

The AP breakeven point is 8 days. If you are planning to return anytime in the next 12 calendar months, you should look into it. It is especially nice for hotel discounts (2 days at Pop Century for $59/night before going "home" to the Beach Club Villas). We got the $59 rate because of the AP--the rate was otherwise $110 when I booked them.
