My dog seems really sick. She has been throwing up alot and just recently has started haveing trouble controling her bladder. We think she got into a treat bag of my sisters. Im kinda scared so if anyone knows what this might be PLEASE POST! :sad2: :sad1: :charac2:

P.s her name is minnie and she is a Yorkie and 4 years old

EDIT: The bag had the following; 2 recees peanut butter cup minis. 2 Crunch bells. 1 candy cane sucker. and also a pencil

You need to take her to the vet immediately! Chocolate is poisonous to dogs, I hope your dog will be alright! Best wishes. :)

take her to the vet either its the chocalte and can help or when my dog was old and started to do that we had to put her down but it is for the best she was sufering

its very dangerous for a dog to have chocolate and she might have eaten the pencil

Sorry i didnt post this before, couldnt find the thread. But anyway

My dog is better now thanks for all the help :)

We all say Thx!

I'm glad your dog is feeling better.
FYI dog lovers out there, my 85 lb lab is a chocoholic and lives to bark about it. I did read once it's the dark chocolate that's dangerous, and milk chocolate doesn't have the same strength of toxins. Now foil wrappers are another story.
BUT... I am notorious for stocking up on candy after every holiday when it goes 50-75% off. Of course it never lasts as long as I tell the cashier it will :rolleyes1 , but I do buy a lot sometimes. Lets just say my dog would find you in the 100 acre woods IF you had a candy bar in your pocket!! He got into my bedroom closet while we gone and ate two whole plastic Target bags full of chocolate eggs/kisses, Marshmellow eggs, and Cadbury Creme eggs (my favorite  )!! We did have a day of throwing up wrappers and such, but no signs of poisoning. He has done similar stunts a few times, that was the worst, and most of the time we don't have to suffer through clean up duties. He even had a whole 12 oz bag of semi sweet choc chips I forgot in the grocery bag and didn't get put away before leaving the house. I was not happy. This IS the dog who has to wear an electric collar to keep him OUT of the kitchen because he opens the bread drawer, freezer, refrigerator (even if blocked by chairs) oven and toaster oven. We're toast if he figures out the pantry!!

A yorkie or such of course couldn't handle the amounts of a large Lab, but don't panic over a few pieces of candy. A call to the vet can't hurt of course.

so....what was the diagnosis? candy? pencil?

our last dog really liked wine. I'm hoping it was because of the fruity smell and not because he had a drinking problem....although everytime he'd go to his water dish he'd end up with water all over his face but that's probably a different drinking problem. lol :rotfl:
(oh I miss that dog. *sniff*)

Im gladd your dog is alright! Ilove yourkies :) {Sp}

Glad the doggie is doing better-
What I have been told is that the darker the chocolate the worse for the dog.
Chocolate candy is not so bad because it has only been melted and has a lot of additives. American chocolate has a lot of wax, etc in it (for preservative) and not much of the bad stuff - European choco is purer. I know a man who feeds his pet a mini Milky Way every day with no problems. The worst chocolate is anything baked in an oven, something to do with the chocolate cooking (and not just melting) is very bad for dogs - SO NO BROWNIES.

Chocolate is toxic to dogs no matter what amount. Cats as well.
