I just said to DH today that as soon as I set foot out of the house, I will get a great DING fare. Well sure enough we went out for about 5 hours today and my DING arrived. My departing flight was no longer available at the Ding rate but the return was. Problem is you cannot cancel only part of a round trip flight. You must cancel the whole thing! I don't want to do that because the only departing flights available are more than what we are currently paying.
So...the moral of the story is if you are waiting for a DING, it will show up when you are not around so do not leave your house! LOL
I did learn another lesson and that is I will book the departing and return trips as one ways so that I can take advantage of DING fares on just a portion of the trip. That is what SWA suggested when I called them.
