I can't use my Developer Points

I won't be able to use my developer points due to timing. What can I do with them? Can I transfer/rent them? Can I donate them to a non-profit like MAW?

Developer points cannot be transferred. However, you may make an actual reservation with the developer points and then donate or rent that reservation.

Have you thought about using the developer points to do a trade? Perhaps there is something in either the Conceirge or Adventurer's Collection that is close to home and works for a long weekend? If you want to book something in one of those, you must call and make the reservation during the first 8 months of your use year.

Another option is to do a "deposit first" for an Interval International trade. You deposit the required points now and then have up to 2 years to select something. (Check with MS on the timing - I'm not positive on the 2 years. Or maybe someone else can confirm that). Anyway, it's a way to extend the time frame that you can use the developers' points.

Yep. Vacations deposited with II must be used by 2 years from the deposit date.

Yep. Vacations deposited with II must be used by 2 years from the deposit date.

To clarify, it's 2 years from the date of the week given II, not the date you actually do the deposit thus it's usually about 2.5 years. If you know you usually travel a certain time you can request that DVC deposit a week accordingly, say 10 months out rather than 5-7 for regular points but only 6 months or so for developer points.

Can you make a reservation for a friend or relative? They could pay you for the reservation.
