I can't upgrade! (Sniff, sniff!)

Just got off the phone with CRO. We are staying at POR Sept 14-23 (free dining). I have had some success lately on Craigslist and decided I'd take the extra $$$ and upgrade to the Poly. No room at the Poly for us on the package, though. Ok...I'll try the BW. Nope. GF? Cont? BW? Nope, nope, nope. So, I guess we'll stay where we are. I'm not disappointed with POR. After all, it's the place I PICKED to begin with. Just thought a better location closer to parks would be nice since we have a 10 month old. Oh well. At least I tried. And hey...look at all the money Disney has saved me now!

Yeah they seem to be all booked up. I just found out I have to change my dates to that time frame and I haven't been given many choices. I guess it's better than not going at all though.

When we originally booked our september (with free dining), we booked it at ASMu. Last week we decided to try to upgrade to a moderate. I tried for a couple of days and kept being told that nothing was available. Finally, one day I called and after I was told nothing was available I very kindly asked to speak to a manager - they put me in touch with guest services and they were able to upgrade us to POFQ.

Since they set a certain number of rooms aside at a special rate, once the promo is doen if you switch you lose the deal... so I was told. But if you call guest services directly and not the reservation center, they are usually the ones who will tell you yes when everyone else says no.
I had a change of heart and wanted to go from a MK view at CR to Poly (better pool!), and got the OK to switch, only to find no one else in my party wants to move! Oh well, big A in the sky, here I come!

Sorry about your luck. Just popped in to say HI! We'll be there 9/14 - 9/23! We're doing a super budget trip this time and staying as Music. The free dining portion is worth more than the cost of our hotel stay. Gotta love that! Maybe you can enjoy the fact that you are saving money by staying where you originally booked? Or look at how much more it would have cost you to upgrade and set that money aside for next year's trip?

FWIW, I tried to add an additional night on our package and I was told that we could not because the special deal had to be booked by 6/23. Which is why the computer is probably telling the CM no availability anywhere - even if there might be.
