Not because it so engrossing (yeah, right!!)

I went to turn it off yesterday, by hand. When I pushed the on/off switch, it fell right into the TV! Now there's a little hole in my TV where the little button was.

This morning, the little button on the remote that turns the TV off and on stopped working!! AFTER I turned it on!!!

I guess I could unplug it or turn off the power strip it's attached to.

Or haul out one of the old multi-function remotes and TRY to find the code book for it (yeah, right!!)....

or stay home and watch the boob tube all day....

The button falling off and the remote not working are signs. You need to go to you nearest electronics store and buy a new 72" plasma TV, then stay home.

LOL, Indyman! That would be my suggestion too!:p

I also vote for you to stay home. :) After a day off with Judge Judy and Dr. Phil you'll return to your office with a new found love for your job. :)

The weirdest thing happened to my car last month. The wipers weren't working, so I had DH fix them. Only trouble was, one rainy day I went to get out of car to go to work, and I couldn't turn them off! I turned the car off, but the wipers were still going. DH fixed 'em alright! :)

My theory?? If those little niggling things start breaking, it's time to get a new one!!

Yep, it's time to get a new one. It wasn't one of those knob changing tv's by any chance, was it?;)

You got off easy, Bernie...the same thing happened to me about a month ago, only with my coffee maker, yet when the button fell in, it created sparking and smoke like a sparkler...made me jump about 2 feet from the floor and scared me silly!!

So what did you end up doing, stayed at home and watched Lamisil ads?

I thought I was the only one that happened to. Our button fell in about 2 years ago, then my kids lost the remote for 3 days. I had to stick something in there to turn it off. Luckily I didn't get electrocuted. I found the remote and about 2 others in the arm of the couch.

LOL... it's a sign to invest a home theater system!!!
