I can't stop!!!

One thing I do to make myself feel better about the new clothes for all, lol, is I leave the tags on them and promise myself that whatever outfits do not get worn on vacation, will be returned to the store (unless I absolutely LOVE them!). Sorry, I'm no help. ;)

When we were little, part of the fun of vacation was having brand new outfits to wear. Such fond memories. I always make sure the kids have new Disney pjs too. Oh boy, sorry, I'm really no help.

One thing that does help me not pack so many little things, is that I really do not like lugging those really heavy suitcases. When I try to hoist those things up on the luggage holder at the resort, I always ask myself why did I bring all this, but you know what? I have pared down my list quite a bit over the years and really do use almost everything I bring. But that wasn't always the case.

You learn with each trip what you need and don't need and I take notes after each trip... like "24 homemade muffins for 3 people were too much for 7 days " or "we only used 2 mini tubes of toothpaste for 8 days" etc.

Just remember that the more you bring, the more you have to keep track of, the more you have to lug around. But yeah, I know it is hard to leave something behind because... "what if what if what if."

Have fun!

I think the worst part of going in the summer for us is that we go through so much clothes. With all the heat, DH just sweats so much that we end up having to change our clothes several times a day. Just started getting our stuff for our June trip and realized that I need a new bag and several toiletries. Since we don't do DDP, we'll also need snacks for the room. That's where I overspend on the snacks.

Oh boy, I didn't even think about that... We are planning on an early start and then returning around lunch for a swim to cool off and rest before heading back out. It didn't even dawn on me that we'd probably need to switch clothes! I DID think about having to do laundry. How many changes should I take for 5 days??

We needed a new camcorder, case, ipod charger...so we spent a bit this weekend as well. One thing I forgot was toothpaste! I usually use 3/4 of a tube and take the rest, same with shampoo, etc. I forgot this year to do that.
I decided to break in my Teva's (normally I don't) and they hurt my feet!!! Blister on the top and the tags bothered my foot so I had to cut them out.....I have bought a new pair for the past 5 years....no problems. These are different and the Mandalay Tevas also hurt. We leave in 5 days so I guess I will be taking my trusty Mickey Crocs!
