I can't decide: PB or RPR?

I'm going the first week of August and still can't decide between PB and RPR. RPR has that South Pacific theming and looks so pretty. PB has bigger rooms, more luxurious - so they say - I've never stayed there. Some of the pixs of PB look sort of drab compared to RPR. Which one???? Some one help me decide.!!!

You can't go wrong with either one. Both are different, but both great. The rooms are smaller at RPR, but the service IMO is much better. Now don't get me wrong, PBH has great service, (we would not be going back on this next trip if it weren't) but at the RPR we felt like VIP's.

I have stayed at all 3 several times, most recently PBH Club. I have finally come to the realization that we stay on site for the hotel express or FOTL. Last stay at RPR was 120 and last stay at PBH was 258. I would have to say that RPR is the better value for my family. I would rather have a park view than a water view. For some reason my kids like the RPR pool better as well.

Depnds on the price of each ... depending on when you're going, the PBH can actually be less than the RPR depending on what discounts are available at each at the time ...

I really like the RPR, but unless I'm saving some money off the PBH, the smaller rooms kill it for me.

PB ($188 or $202 bayview) and RPR $164.

I've only stayed at RPR, but am going to PB in Aug.
The rooms at PB are bigger than RPR. Maybe the "amount
of people in your party" (sounds so professional-doesn't it?
hee-hee) will help you make your decision.
Just to let you know-- We-hubby,16 year old dd, 2 pups, and
myself were fine in the RPR room. Heck- We were at the parks
all day and the pups were in the kennel. Really only used the
room to sleep, shower, and change. I'd happily go back to RPR,
we got about the same price as you for PB, so we are trying it
for the Aug. trip.

heading to Gainesville so my dd can check out the
University of Florida. GO GATORS!!!!
Where ever you decide to stay eat at Mama Della's at PB.
The best food!!!! No kidding!!!!

$24/night (plus tax, don't forget that!), is probably enough of a difference that I'd just stay at the RPR ...

RPR wins my vote for sure!

The theme is so tropical and "island"ish. We loved the pool and pool bar. It is a little closer to the parks. When you approach PB it looks very much like a hotel cut out of cardboard cut-outs. It is much quieter and warmer (more un-shaded area). RPR is tropcial with music and nice shade everywhere. We loved this hotel!!

I like the RPR's beautiful tropical theme and my DD loves the pool but the PBH rooms are great. They seem huge and the bathroom is wonderful!! The beds are soooo comfortable. We had a deluxe bayview room with these huge windows. At night you can look and see hundreds of tiny lights sparkling off the water and the little boats bobbing. It was wonderful. The service was very good, not as good as RPR, but still very good. At RPR my DD was given a pail and shovel at check in, when we inquired about it at PBH they said they would send it to our room, which they did and it was full of candy and chips . We will definitely be returning to PBH but hopping over to RPR's pool. You'll be happy at either one they are both fabulous.

I have stayed at both RPH and PBH. I would say go with RPH over PBH. I think the staff was nicer and the resort it self is more kid friendly. I was at PBH 2 nights and we never saw a soul in the hallways or even walking around the resort. The pool was ok but there wern't many people using it. I didn't see anything that made it worth the extra money.

We really loved Royal Pacific, but visited all three pools. Fourteen yr old boys need variety, I guess. They loved the underwater sound system at Hard Rock, but they were so unimpressed with Portifino that we just got on the boat and went back to Royal Pacific. RP's pool is so large is never seemed crowded and there seemed to be more activities close to the pool. We also thought Portofino was further away from all the action of the park and the guests were all much older than Hard Rock and RP. Those 2 factors may interest you.

I would choose RP. PB seems to be further away from the theme parks.

How about splitting your stay between the 2 resorts? They'll probably transfer your luggage. Then you'll have the opportunity to try both & decide what you like best!

We had stayed at the PB in May. We were going to stay at the RPR but got a great AP rate for the PB deluxe bay view room. After staying at the HRH last year, and having a view of PB, my daughter wanted to try PB because it looked so beautiful. After watching the travel channel special on PB we were sold on it. IMHO, after staying their with my daughter and her friend ( 13 years old) and I will be staying at the PB again. My daughter just absolutely loves Italy, and everything about it. So to her it's a slam dunk as to the ambience and the feel of Italy. I was surprised that she liked and prefers it, over the HRH ( you know with all the coolness that exudes all around you) and we both like the beach pool better. They also have a great fitness center, that I like.

The one draw back that I hear people say is, " how far away PB is from the parks" if you are basing it on walking, then yes I agree. But the boat ride is very relaxing and scenic, did I say, "relaxing". I'm sorry I'm not able to have any in put as to the RPR......but I just wanted to chime in on are view of the PB.
