My fiance proposed in Dec. at Disney's Vero Beach Resort after a week at WDW:yay: . I'm a huge Disney freak and so is my family and his. The trouble is, he's not that into a Disney Wedding. I'm still on the fence about it. Money is a little tight and we'd have to do an Escape package. The 20 person limit would just be family. His family are DVC members so the rooms would be covered. I'm just not sure about some things. . . . Can I hire an outside photographer? Do we have to use a certain amount of rooms? If we have a ceremony in the morning or afternoon, what do we do the rest of the day, I'd like to stay in my dress? Thanks in advance and sorry if I don't reply right away, my internet isn't working right.

Congratulations! :wizard:

1) You can hire outside photography and have the included Disney photographer.

2) With the Escape package you do not have to fill a certain amount of room but the bride and groom are required to stay at a Disney owned resort for 4 nights.

Since both you and your husband to be aren't quite sure about a Disney wedding you could look into getting married at Vero beach. I know another couple did this and it was a heck of a lot cheaper than doing the escape package and since Vero beach is already very special to you it may be nice :)

You can listen to a podcast about the couples experience here: http://disneytravelbabble.com/podcast/

HTH!

Thank you! I'm going to look at Vero Beach right now. I never even thought of it as an option!

Congratulations and welcome!!
Have you also considered a Swan/Dolphin wedding? This hotel is still on prperty (still plenty of the Disney atmosphere), but since it is not a DFTW wedding, you can add as many or as few Disney touches as you wish. You can chose all your own vendors etc (eg photographer, florist, cake maker etc).
It tends to work out significantly cheaper than a DFTW and there is no guest limit or minimum stay requirement :thumbsup2
Let us know what you decide!!

What about a memories collection wedding? Is your guest count too high?

You can add a reception and/or dessert party to an Escape wedding and stay in your dress. Or you can book a regular ADR for a meal, you can stay in your dress if its a restaurant not in a park. Other options include hiring the Grand 1 or doing afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian.

My fiance has 12 close family members alone! I only have 3 but I know everyone wants to be there since we're all really close. I think I might have my fiance talked into Vero Beach!

I've seen a few pics from a small Vero Beach wedding that Randy Chapman did and it looked lovely! You should check out his facebook page Chapman Photography.
