I can't believe this...

I went out today to check on my plants and I can't believe that I'm going to have to do this.....

I purchased a $4 rose bush (cause I've grown them before I figured if it didn't take off I wasn't going to be out of alot of money) and also got a Yarrow plant for 99 cents (it was on a discounted rack). Well low and behold - they have both taken off wonderfully. The problem is this....MY MUMS ARE OVERTAKING EVERYTHING!!!!!!

These mums that I purchased last year (and I love mums mind you) were maybe 5 inches wide and maybe about a foot tall last year when I planted them. In fact I didn't think they were even going to make it because they looked so sad when I bought them. Well guess what.....they are now probably 3 feet wide (all of them and there are 4) and they have overtaken my other plants. I planted the Yarrow plant between two of them and those are the bigger of the mums...the poor Yarrow is getting squished....so looks like I have to move the Yarrow.

Then the other mum has that has gotten huge is planted right next to my newly planted, and doing extremely well, rose bush!!!!! And growing into my rose bush now!!!! So guess what I have to probably do....move the rose bush. I hope I don't kill it by doing this.....

I can't believe this!!!!! First my green thumb kills things and then it makes them grow outrageous!!!!!!

What are you feeding these plants December99?

I might be tempted to move the mum, rather than the rose, especially when the rose is happy where it is.

When it rains, it pours!

Funny thing is...I don't fertilize any of my plants!!!!! Must just be good soil!!! ROFL (must be the cornfield that use to be there....they're being "corn fed")!

So moving the mum is the better choice...rats....I guess the first thing I need to do next year is get my other flower beds up and ready cause I'm going to have tons of plants to get moved!!!!!! ROFL

You need to divide the mums at some point anyway. I would wait until spring though.
