Hey Everyone,

Heading out for our first trip on Saturday. I am sooo excited.

We'll be staying in the Marriott Village. Dear Hubby is a platinum level with them, so I called to request a suite upgrade. They did it with no problem. I told her I couldn't believe they weren't all booked. She said they still had plenty of space at all room levels. It seemed strange to me, and she agreed that doesn't happen at this time of year.

Thoughts? Of course, I'm hopin' it means they are going to be s-l-o-w, but I won't hold my breath.

Is this usual??? I know it's not a resort hotel, but it does seem to have a good location and they were wide open.

why do you think that Disney has the buy 4 get 3 sale for in spring break.

rental are way down all over the place.

hoping this means that the parks won't be quite so crowded.;)

that say watch the hours - disney does a survey about 2 weeks to 10 days before arrival - so be sure to check. If the park is not going to be as crowded then they will shorten the hours.

Just a word of warning... REQUEST is the key word here. I request them with Marriott all the time (rarely get them and I am Platnium too!)

Bookings are down. Several Marriotts had a buy three get one day free sale not too long ago!

momslave and carol c we too are platinum. we requested at the marriott grande vista for a room upgrade. We are fairly new to marriott. My husband used to always stay with sheratons but with his job change now it is marriotts. Sounds like the odds are low for upgrade. Since this is a timeshare property do you think the odds are worse. Also are there any other specials we get at platinum since again it is a timeshare property. I was wondering what the gift ? Any info would be great. Thanks

I don't have any idea about the timeshare chances one way or the other. However, we've been lucky and always gotten our requested upgrades. I know it also depends on where and when you stay. The gifts vary by hotel. Sometimes it's food, drink, certificates, etc. We always just take the bonus staying points as our gift. We have over 3 weeks pre-booked with points already!! Some are pretty basic stays, but we also have some beachfront property stays as well. It's a great benefit because of hubby's travel. I'm grateful his company allows him to keep his points, both Marriott and frequent flyer.

I think I ws just mostly shocked that every room type was available during spring break at Disney!

think it demands on how busy the place is. If it is fairly empty you might get your upgrade.

if it is full - forget it - the owners will get what they paid for and you get what you paid for this time.

do the wine tasting - it is so worth it!!! sign up on your arrival.
